Genuinely think I would pay 500 pounds a month until the day I die just to be on the night out with the England team tonight!
Still can't believe it - amazing.

Sounds right.
England were bowled out3 -
Un feckin believable !!!!
We had to go out for a couple of hours around 5pm so recorded the rest of the match.
So, we were around 2 hours behind everyone else when we watched the final part of this fantastic final unfold.....
I honestly can't believe what we've just witnessed. What a way to win the World Cup !
EVERYONE in the England shirt played their part, and the Kiwis didn't deserve to lose TBH.
But win we did.
Watching Andrew Strauss speak about everything the England lads have gone through over the past 4 years brought a tear to my eye......As our players celebrated behind him during the interviews after the presentations, I thought how he must wish that his lovely wife was there to share these special moments with him, bless his heart.

My mate, and captain of my cricket team, works for the ECB.
He is currently in the England dressing room.
He is not my mate anymore.8 -

I offered my friend 5/2 when we were 2/1 to win the tournament before Sri Lanka.
I offered my friend 5/2 when we lost the next game also.
He took 5/2 last Thursday when we were still 2/1.
I have won £100. Never have I felt more confident I was going to win money.
England have beaten teams that don't really care for the last 4 years. We have NEVER won the world cup and haven't beaten Australia, NZ and India in a World Cup for a very, very, very, very long time.
England in May and June. Bound to rain. Tracks bound to swing and move about a bit.
Absolutely no way is our batting line up good enough to win a World Cup.
I’m 1.8k comments behind on this thread and this was the last post I’d read @supaclive :-)11 -
What was the boundary count by the way? Was it close?
24-16 in the main match.0 -

Was out most of the day so watched on my phone for most of England’s innings.
Watched the highlights which didn’t highlight the Stokes lucky touch in the last over, what exactly happened?
Also, was Archer’s first ball a wide in the super over?0 -
The Stokes incident was when a fielder threw at the stumps and as Stokes was diving to get in ground the ball hit his bat and went for four runs.
yes his first ball was a wide0 - Sponsored links:

Archer's first ball was round the wicket to the left hander. It went directly over the blue line. Umpire signalled a wide. I didn't think it was. But the line is only a guide and so if the umpire wants to judge it as a wide in the circumstances, I think that's fair enough.2 -
I was umpiring a match in the Quaid-e-Azam league up here in Yorkshire. The match finished. All Asian players crowded around an iPad cheering on New Zealand. Me, only English bloke for miles, looking disconsolate.
Then - boom! That last regulation over was ridiculous.1 -
Did that really happen , mental mental scenes , being there with my eldest made me choke up a bit once we'd won and a lone NZ fan came up and shook our hands a good hour plus after the game and congratulated us , a proper class act .
Full respect to them they're like classy English people with a slightly moody Aussie accent .
told the Kiwi i hope they win the next 3 to make up for that torture
what with this and wembley we're gonna be stuck with roly forever as payback12 -
I know both teams knew the rules about the countback etc but looking back now would it not have been fairer and certainly more dramatic to have had another Super Over if scores were level after the first one?2

That throw in from Roy was an arrow of the highest quality!
Great throw sir.5 -

Can i just say,.....bugger.6
-
Sorry. Also worth mentioning,....bugger, bugger, bugger.4
-
The ball that went for a six, by the fielder stepping on the rope. Would it have carried for a six? If not and the fielder let it go for a four, NZ would’ve won in the 50 overs.0

P.S. Fck.3

During the celebrations and lap of honour I’m surprised Queens “We are the Champions” wasn’t played0

It was good to hear Morgan mention those players who have been part of the squad over the course of the last year but didn't make the final squad particularly David Willey. That said, would it have been better to be Willey or say Curran or Dawson who were drinks carriers throughout or even Ali who lost his place in the team?1

That was honestly the first time I've watched cricket properly aged 43, well, I watched England's last 20 overs. Bearing in mind my dad would watch a full 5 day test regardless who is playing when I was a kid.
Got a mate who calls me uneducated cause I think Cricket is boring and he has been trying to get me to go for years.
I respectfully whattsapped him at the end as didn't want to call and ruin his moment and simply said 'Wow, cricket finally gets a personality, I enjoyed that last 20 overs and fully expect my money back if we do finally go and it's less boring than that'.1
