Missed pretty much the whole game because I was at work, but these are the results that keep us up. Anyone can beat anyone in this league on any day! Great way to end the day!3

We weren't chasing a goal, so I suspect that was why Bowyer didn't feel the need for another out and out forward.Fortune 82nd Minute said:
Fair enough. But in that case, use Aneke up front. Surely one of him and Bonne could have done 20 minutes? If not, why were both on the subs bench?superclive98 said:
Saving him for Saturday and beyond. No point in rushing him back.Fortune 82nd Minute said:Totally agree with all the praise for the team, Sarr, Taylor, Oztumer, Phillips in particular, for Bowyer and also the fans who were brilliant. Won't repeat it.
But I'm going to have one moan. Just don't understand the substitution of Hemed by Smith. The poor lad looked well out of his depth and just ran around fairly pointlessly. With Taylor left without a partner up front, we couldn't keep the ball and it just kept coming straight back. That could have cost us.
Bonne was on the subs bench. Why not bring him on for the last 20 mins3 -
What a result to wake up to!8

Smith did fine when on.4

Football, bloody hell. 10 away games, and finally my first win this season!
After the abysmal performance on Saturday, what a turnaround. Helped by a shockingly inept Forest display, yes they rested players but their passing was hilariously bad, I lost count of the number of passes which went out for throws or crosses which soared way over.
Naby had a blinder, with Lyle close behind, but in general it was an excellent team performance and a much needed one.
Hemed wasn’t great, but I didn’t think the Smith introduction worked as it left Lyle isolated and meant that we kept losing possession back to them. I would have preferred Bonne or Aneke, to give us more of an outlet.16 -
Shit journey up, but had a decent booze in a little pub behind Trent Bridge. Got to the ground freezing my nuts off and had little faith we would get something.Thought Forest had the opening few minutes then we really settled into the game. Best I’ve seen us pass the ball, especially out of tight areas for a long time. I said last week I’d like to see Hemed start and get the ball into his body/feet, and I was right. His hold up play was superb. Taylor was ridiculous and took his goal really well. Oztumer is a tricky little bastard, never gonna be strong in battles but he does offer something different.Cullen and Davis won the midfield battle hands down. I don’t think Forest got the ball into their forwards from central areas, so they protected our back 3 superbly.
Doughty had a mixed night but Matthews was brilliant. Purrington did extremely well when he came on, especially as Forest concentrated their attacks down their right.Pearce was back to his best, winning his battles and played little a proper skipper. Lockyer is consistently good and is becoming a top class champ defender. Then we got Nabby. What a cross. Defended like a lion. His best game for us. Philips with top shithousery, love it.
Bowyer got it spot on tonight after coming into a bit of stick.
Lastly our fans. What a brilliant night around some people ive never seen before in my life but all having a proper laugh and getting behind the boys. The poor ginger kid in their end tried to give it and ended up getting absolutely destroyed.
Wont get home till 1am. Up at 6am. Fuck it, what a win.60 -
February was always going to critical to the rest of the season. So many games and so many of them against teams we cannot afford to lose ground to. A terrific win tonight that manages to offset Saturday but still much work to do between now and the end of the month.
Fatigue will play a big factor on Saturday as every one of them put in one hell of a shift tonight.
Whilst agree with everyone that Naby, Mathews and Taylor were standouts, I don’t think Davis’s performance has been the praise it deserves. He’s one of those players who does so much dirty work for the team and if he keeps playing like he did tonight, he will be critical to our climb up the table.
Really looking forward to Saturday!!!!12 -
Imperative that Matt sits down with Taylor.
Even if we have millions to spend, finding a replacement is nigh on impossible. Heartbeat of the club and a top top striker/footballer.
Similarly, give Matthews a three year deal. Championship quality. Quite remarkable how Bowyer helps these players find their way back to true form.22 -

Great support up there from those who went
Not like City Ground is a new one, especially on a school night and game shown on the tube
Heroes those Charlton players tonight, Forest were poor but we still did what we really needed2 -
I am sure Oztumer won 3 headers ....😬ValleyGary said:Shit journey up, but had a decent booze in a little pub behind Trent Bridge. A very fair summary, although I'd put Lyle in front of Naby, who was immense, just for the effort that he put in.killerandflash said:Football, bloody hell. 10 away games, and finally my first win this season!

Thought that Hemed was massively better but still gave the ball away far too easily.
At least Smith has had a taster. Whether he will add anything remains to be seen.
90 minutes after the final whistle and I'm still absolutely buzzing. It's great that Charlton can make me feel this way again.6 -
Don't count out Hull. They are sinking like a stone and are absolutely useless without Bowen and Grosickimascot88 said:It looks like its us and wigan, but if the game in hand for the boys below us result in loses it mixes it up again... could be a topsy turvy finish to the season, but that is HUGE win and will give everyone at the club big confidence going into the run in.
A win in front of a big crowd on Saturday and we could even start believing(dangrous).
Still love this team for all their flaws.10 -

Yeah, but they've got Marcus Maddison!!RC_CAFC said:

Good stuff guys, I love that people are pointing out how poor some of the other teams around us are and how more can get dragged in... I just have this feeling about this year, if we can stay up, next season, could be something to behold.5

Top fecking notch.
Hoped for a draw before the game because I couldn't see us winning but then I remembered this is a different charlton that dont give up.
Looking at Lyle towards the end and realising we had made all 3 subs I thought he was done and couldn't run any more. Then all of a sudden he was running the width of the pitch chasing defenders down and putting it a proper shift as he always does to help get us them 3 points.
Brilliant every single one of them tonight.3 -
First win for me (live or watching on TV) since that great day at Wembley. As I work in Nottingham I can’t wait to get in the office tomorrow. Such a contrast to Saturday, but that just makes tonight so much more enjoyable. Fans great tonight. I was in a WhatsApp group with some Forest fans who went strangely quiet as the game progressed 😂8

Playoffs here we come.5

Davis taking that yellow to stop their attack showed how his experience is going to help for the rest of the season. We have conceded so many goals this season by letting teams run at us when someone could have just taken a cardGadgey said:February was always going to critical to the rest of the season. What a comment for Naby on the forest forums haha
''Lumping balls into Walker when they’d packed the box with mutants (who was that massive black fella? Superb player, colossal) was again naive. We didn’t do enough to pull them out of position and on the odd occasions we did get down the sides the delivery was dreadful.''
Absolutely love Naby, top bloke and always happy to hear/see him play well.
Well done the 800+ you were magnificent, really proud of our away support the past 3 seasons or so, the Bowyer effect22 -
Can't see why people are getting carried away by this, I've just watched the highlights on sky & apart from our goal & a wayward cross from Doughty it was all Forest.16

Just beaten a top 4 side, scored a cracking goal, kept a clean sheet and regardless of what the highlights show, we were the better side. If you can't get carried away by that...charltonbob said:Can't see why people are getting carried away by this, I've just watched the highlights on sky & apart from our goal & a wayward cross from Doughty it was all Forest.14 -

Bring on football for a fiver Saturday, Yaay!
Shocking stats for the Blackburn Hull game. Hull is a team in a state of collapse. No shots on target against 11, 10 shots in total against 26. 29% possession.

"You're just a shit Ed Sheeran" came through clearly on the telly14 -
They created a few good chances, but we matched them for most of the game all over the pitch. It was a great performance all round, best since Bristol City. If we can keep anything like this level up for the rest of the month against Blackburn and the teams around us we will be out if trouble very soon.charltonbob said:Can't see why people are getting carried away by this, I've just watched the highlights on sky & apart from our goal & a wayward cross from Doughty it was all Forest.2
