Saw him up at Stoke a few weeks back just one of those people you always saw at away grounds.   I think his picture appeared in a programme back in 1972 coming back from Brighton on the short lived league liner.  Also remember a lovely article in the Voice some years back either penned by him or about him.

    Yep he did that for about 15 years!

    I'm sorry to learn of this. Les and I were Valley Party candidates in 1990.
    Les was very kind to me when CAFC returned to The Valley. Living in Hampshire at the time, I found it difficult to secure tickets (I became a season-ticket holder upon my return to London). Les would purchase a ticket for me on a match-by-match basis, and deliver it to my parents' home, and I would arrange payment.
    Thank you, Les. I'll always be grateful for your help. Rest in peace.

    Knew Les from Lewis coach travel days. A very nice man who lived and breathed Charlton.

    So very sorry to hear this news.

    My condolences to Danny and the family. I'd known Les since we were in LAC Rovers team and I always recall how he made time for everybody-He was a Gentleman. 

    My late Dad thought Les was a super fan and if it wasn't for that kind of dedication we wouldn't have a club at all.

    He will be sorely missed.

    How sad . I remember les from the days of Lewis coaches . I was also in trouble many years ago with non payment of NI stamps being a young self employed builder ...  I was called into the office in Woolwich and who was sitting there ...les, who proceeded to help a young know all builder sort out a nightmare of paper work . I think the last time we said hello was at the mem this season against Bristol Rovers .
    Les was always there . It’s like part of my own life has passed away . RIP Les... COYR

    Danny so sorry to hear this sad news,thinking of the goodtimes spent with Les so many years ago.
    That coach in the sky Lewis Coaches is filling up as the years roll by,Big Chris,Eddie the driver,Betty and now you father Les. He is with good friends ,condolences to you and all his family.

    I knew Les through a friend and got to know him on the terraces at the Valley and Selhurst Park. Hadn't seen him for a while but bumped into him outside the Valley a few weeks back and had a quick chat with him which now I am so glad I got the chance to do. Absolute great guy and a true gent. Really sad news and a great loss not only to his family but anybody who had the honour and pleasure to spend time with him.
    RIP Les. You will be missed greatly by so many.

    Will miss him so much. A true kind gentle soul and to me he was ‘ The King of the Big Hitters’. Unbelievable support for over 70 years. He carried around the programme with him at all times of his first ever match - 12th November 1949, a 1-3 defeat at the Valley v Liverpool
