Toast

I cannot get enough of toast. So simple but so delicious. I could eat it til I'm sick. With butter alone, but maybe with a bit of marmite. I don't care.
I JUST LOVE TOAST.

What do people have with toast then?
  • I also eat toast every day. Usually one with peanut butter and one with Nutella. Pretty boring I guess. Also dabble with marmite,, jams, marmalade, cheeses, caviar, etc. My wife gets really pissed off that a cupboard in the kitchen has around 20 jars of stuff just to go on my toast.

You know, I needed something like this tonight to remind me that there are still good things in the world. Thanks Uboat.

Just butter for breakfast (lurpak original). Cheese ham and tomato as a lunch. Beans and a shit ton of cheese as a hangover cure.

Toasted granary seeded bread with butter and marmite.
  • Toast is wonderful but not with shitty sliced bread. Crusty white bloomer with butter.

Lovely stuff but hate the saying.

“If we don’t complete this report on time, we’re toast” Really, in that case, I’d cover you in butter and marmalade and chomp you up!

    Agree. Disrespectful to toast.

    Butter and marmite.

    Butter and peanut butter.

Cheese and any two of onion, Worcester sauce, celery seeds.

    Avocado and black pepper.

Baked beans with melted cheese on top.

    Honey.

    Butter and black cherry jam.

Cut into soldiers and dipped into the slightly runny yolk of a boiled egg.

Ah, the toast sandwich - a staple of my university days. Get the 9p loaf from Morrison's at around 8pm and that's food for the next couple of days, in a pinch.

Two slices of bread. Butter - hopefully you have some - or try and use your flatmate's if that's allowed. Toast another slice of bread for the filling. Add some salt, pepper and Tabasco (crucial first week of term purchases, but then you realise that's basically a quarter of your food budget for a week and thus ration over the term/year appropriately) and you are having a wonderful meal, my friend.

If it’s just butter, do you:-
A spread when the toast is hot so the butter fully melts in or
B let the toast cool down so that the butter sits on top in its unmelted state?

How have you managed to find the most Americanized version of toast?
