I think it's now quite obvious that Nimer conned Southall into believing he had funds. Southall thought his luck was in so started living the life. It became apparant Nimer had lied. At this point, Southall had two options:
1 - Come clean, the fans actually would have felt a bit sorry for him. The embargo would have been blamed on Nimer. The lack of investment on Nimer.
2 - Continue to fleece the club of the funds they did have.
He was greedy and selfish, he chose option 1. He performed the deadline day antics, he continued to drive round in the Range Rover(s), he was taking every penny he could.
I don't know if Nimer has any funds. It's possibly the source that is the sticky point. Either way it is looking increasingly unlikely that Nimer can satisfy the EFL.
It's a major problem but both parties would have contributed and it could be the end. I think Southall is trying to save face because his safety would be under threat if this club goes under.
