Should a stage be added in before the EFL, Paul Elliott's house/office? This prick seems to have got off very lightly so far, even if we can probably assume that others are pulling his strings.
Whilst the peaceful element of the protest was brilliant and carried out in the manner we would expect, it a shame that the very small minority, have scored an own goal, just by nicking some wine, a console (now returned) etc.. I’m wondering if the organisation of this great protest was slightly at fault, shouldn’t this misbehaving have been anticipated and some stewards or similar appointed to try to prevent this occurring. All we done is to give the malicious element within the SMT the ideal ammunition to have a go at the fans, which they have done with amazing speed and great delight. After all we claim rightly to be savvy in all things media related, and we more than often outsmart the SMT with getting brilliant social media coverage for our protests, I just feel it a terrible shame, that we should hand the malicious element such an easy way to criticise the fans.
6 of my family there yesterday. We’re not protestors , but we felt this one was very important. It has nothing to do with what is achieved from being there. We felt the need to go and support the event , it made us feel better. Felt on the way home that we have a chance as a club , and a lot of it is down to those putting in the time and effort to get the message out. Cannot believe some of the negativity. Everyone entitled to an opinion, but on this occasion best to keep your negative thoughts to yourself otherwise you just look a prick. PS: Was in the Market Porter with a Palace fan Friday. Told him we all had Farnell and Elliott’s mobile numbers. Called Farnell to prove it and ended up having a 30 second drunken rant at him. That’s probably the equivalent of pissing in the sink ...

Well done to all, looks like a big turnout so a couple of bad apples getting carried away is disappointing but shouldn’t diminish the positive impression which is the real outcome.

The damage referred to is people going on the pitch, which the ground staff specifically asked people not to do. With such a short amount of time till the start of the season it can damage the surface, now it wasn’t a huge amount of traffic but even still.
The damage was elsewhere, unfortunately, including a press backdrop and an exit gate. To be fair to those in the boardroom, it seems most of the damage and theft occurred elsewhere. Those in the boardroom have offered to pay for what they had, but a decent amount was taken from elsewhere. For example, someone helped themselves to a fair amount of champagne, dropping and smashing some of them as they made off (Yohann Thuram levels of handling!)
Hi Olly. One of the organisers has told me that he left more than £100 in the boardroom to cover damages, and he and one other of that group left their names with staff. Could you ask whoever wrote that statement to confirm that the money picked up has been properly accounted for by the Club?
I will personally ask Mr Mihail to investigate that too, while gently reminding him that when he did his “diploma in English Law” he probably came up quite early on the concept of “innocent until proven guilty”.
Playing devil's advocate but isn't "helping yourself and leaving some cash to cover it" still wrong?

I totally applaud the "occupation", as I think everyone else is, I don't think anyone is defending the pissing in the sink or theft of the PS.
But I fully understand people taking issue with the consumption of goods, regardless of if they left enough money to cover it or not.
It's not a big deal imo but I am supprised that for some people it's a hill they appear to be prepared to die on either way.
At the very least the effort to pay for what had been consumed should have been considered when making their statement. The person who left the money now has this legitimate doubt: where has that money gone?
We may also hear more today from the organisers about the pissing in the sink allegation. Who witnessed this, where? The organisers say they cleared up in the boardroom and that included pouring away opened bottles of booze. Perhaps Keohane cannot tell the difference. Actually if he is the wine buyer it would not surprise me.
Its a pity (and I'm not taking sides) that the thread has been mainly about the 'incidents' rather than the the peaceful protest, the media coverage, the symbolic leaving of pound coins at Sam's statue, the donating of the money to the Local NHS Trust and finally that, our hopeful new owner, Thomas Sandgaard has matched the money collected and donated about £650 of his own money to the NHS trust as well. Lots of good stuff I've mentioned above and this should be the narrative and what we need to focus on.
I think the PlayStation was in the players lounge for the players kids to use.
Regardless, it's scummy to nick it or bottles of champagne. Nothing to do with protests, just like pissing in sinks.
There's no debate that Southall and Amis have nicked a lot more but that doesn't justify nicking booze.. There are toilets just outside the board room for fucks sake.

Spent the afternoon counting the £1 coins and then got told Thomas Sandgaard was matching the amount raised. Fantastic and what we should be about, not petty larceny.
I'm in no way defending those who stole drinks. Had they popped open a bottle of fizz to celebrate 'taking the boardroom' I would have had a glass. The guys I saw taking liberties with booze were young and tried to justify by saying the owners has stolen from the club. It probably didn't occur to them at the time that the club is not Nimer or Southall and that this tab would have to be picked up sometime.
The toilets were all locked, as were the changing rooms. I personally find pissing in the sink massively disrespectful, its inconsiderate as some poor sod has to clean it up. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but I didn't see it. Whoever stole the games console should return it posthaste, really poor form.
Superb work with the piper and all the dosh raised. The chap who spoke on behalf of CARD was very good and hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Not always successful however.
I suspect yesterday’s demo will be remembered more for good reasons by most however, and ESI trying to benefit from the downside is unlikely to gain traction.

I think the reasonable takeaway from today's events is clear.
If you're going to crime, crime big.
Don't take the wine, pinch the games console, or piss in the sink. Do working class crimes, get working class punishments.
Why not go white collar? Make sure you swipe four white Range Rovers for you and your mates and take out a lease on a cushy London flat with river views. You'll get pilloried just the same, for a time, but the return is so much better. Go big, point fingers at every opportunity, and make sure you get the lawyers, the media, and your wife's father to help muddy the waters. You'll walk away scot free, maybe even with another pay day from the one's who come along to sort out the mess. And don't worry, you'll get to do it all over again somewhere else in the future.

At the Nottingham Forest home game I did not pay for a lemonade I bought my son in Crossbars. I was irate at the time having been told by the kid behind the ramp (who had never poured a pint in his life) that “we don’t sell lemonade” despite him holding a 2 litre bottle of R Whites at the time. Apparently that could only be used for ‘topping up beer’.
A manager had to be called to authorise the alternative usage of lemonade (drinking it) and amongst the hooha I was not charged correctly.
This is was a minor incident on what was a night of fantastic support. I’m very disappointed the club have decided to go straight to the media on this incident without trying to resolve the issue amicably.
This morning my family woke up to hacks from The Guardian, The Daily Sport, Morning Star and Salvationist camped outside our front door seeking comment and photos.
A can of Sprite has been returned to the club this morning.
I've deliberately not posted on this thread as I was not there. But I think the comms team got it completely wrong. Well done to those who organised this event and well done all who attended.
"Charlton fans occupy Valley boardroom" is still one of the shown headlines on the main BBC football page, albeit a little way down the page. Granted most people won't click on the article but the news that the club is in trouble is inescapable to anyone who merely casts their eye on the headline.

For me it was well organised, well attended, and did a superb job of highlighting our plight across the football fans up and down the Country.
