Don't worry, though, as we made the right call by keeping Fred Onyedinma instead. As I understand it, that was the rationale behind the decision.
You can't buy that level of scouting and judgement.
Charlton have let Semi Adayi and Harry Arter go.
Players can improve in different surroundings2 -
Agreed. In this case right ones and wrong onesRichard J said:

Probably the second worst recent transfer decision (outgoing) the club has made behind the sale of Tim Cahill.

Happens everywhere though... Could argue we did the same with Jordan Ibe0

I only mentioned it as a reminder that other clubs do it, and not just us

Remember seeing Fred play for you against us, a few years back and thinking he looked a great prospect. Is he still with you and just not lived up to it or gone elsewhere?Big_Bad_World said:

Rodrigo has completed his move to Sky Sports Leeds United for a club record fee (£30m) on a 4 year deal.1

Spurs sign Matt Doherty from Wolves1

a surprise but shrewd signing .. Doherty is one of the most unsung but consistent players in the Prem .. clever business by Maurinhokillerandflash said:Spurs sign Matt Doherty from Wolves2 -
Not convinced Doherty is a good enough RB, much better as a wing back. Spurs will need another couple of CBs to play 3 at the back.0

Crazy that you can be out of the premier league for 15 years or so, come back in and immediately be spending £30m on 1 player.ricky_otto said:Rodrigo has completed his move to Sky Sports Leeds United for a club record fee (£30m) on a 4 year deal.2 -
It's the same with Coady. He's excellent for Wolves as he plays as the spare man playmaker at the back, he's not a great defendercafcfan1990 said:Not convinced Doherty is a good enough RB, much better as a wing back. Spurs will need another couple of CBs to play 3 at the back.1 -
Tottenham announcing the signing of Arsenal fan Matt Doherty

I usually find announcement/ unveiling videos to be complete cringe but that one was quite good.paulie8290 said:Tottenham announcing the signing of Arsenal fan Matt Doherty6 -

Shame for Wolves selling Doherty. They’ve really kicked on, albeit with some hefty financial backing, but Doherty was a key part of their team.0

La Liga sticking by Barcelona (suprise surprise, they'll lose a lot of commercial money with no Messi, CR7, Neymar in the league) and saying anyone wanting to take over Messi's contract will need to meet the €700m release clause. Messi didn't turn up to a Covid test this morning as he believes he's a free agent.0

La Liga also take a % of every transfer in and out of Spain.sam3110 said:La Liga sticking by Barcelona (suprise surprise, they'll lose a lot of commercial money with no Messi, CR7, Neymar in the league) and saying anyone wanting to take over Messi's contract will need to meet the €700m release clause. There was no chance they were ever going to side with Messi knowing how much the would stand to lose commercially, and from anyone who would even think about offering any money for him right now in this situation (there’s no chance anyone is paying the release clause).0 -
I reckon they'll end up agreeing a deal worth about 100m (money + a couple of lesser players like Garcia and Angelino).sam3110 said:La Liga sticking by Barcelona (suprise surprise, they'll lose a lot of commercial money with no Messi, CR7, Neymar in the league) and saying anyone wanting to take over Messi's contract will need to meet the €700m release clause. The alternative is keep an unhappy player, pay him almost 1m a week and he goes for free next summer anyway. If he's adamant he wants to leave they're better to just move him on.1 -

Ivan Toney has moved to Brentford. Good news for us and other clubs in League 1.

Good signing for Brentford and suits the way they play. Surely means Watkins will leave now?bellz2002 said:Ivan Toney has moved to Brentford. Good news for us and other clubs in League 1.
Shows how they were in for Taylor before, could’ve signed him for free this summer but chose to swerve him and pay up to £10mil instead for Toney. Maybe his attitude played a big part in that decision from Brentford.1 -
Probably because Toney is younger so more chance of sell on value in the future.Sage said:

Age could have been a factor. Wages? Would toney be in less than the snakeSage said:

I dunno about yous but I’m getting pretty sick of Sky Sports showing Ben White’s screamer effectively sending us down every time they mention his contract situation.5

Brentford have an eye for selling players on and Toney could be a big earner for them.Sage said:
