Just a Ronnie Schwartz update, maybe due to international call ups not sure maybe @flyingkiwiDK can tell us, but he played the final 30 minutes today in a cup game

I also see Oxford signed Jordan Obita on 9th November and he played 45 minutes on Tuesday0

They were after a free agent defender, but I thought it was going to be a centre backpaulie8290 said:I also see Oxford signed Jordan Obita on 9th November and he played 45 minutes on Tuesday0 -

Our public interest may well see him sold to a league side. It raised his profile and let it known that Gallen and Bowyer liked him enough to put in an offer.Henry Irving said:https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/charlton-athletic-transfer-chief-talks-about-recent-bid-for-boreham-wood-youngster/

Wonder if they thought they could get more money with us having been taken over, or having seen us just make a tasty profit on Macauley Bonne they wanted a bit more up front3
-
I am sure they are devastated lol, if he is that good someone else will come in for him in January, there were rumours a few other teams were looking at him, so just because we pulled out I am sure otherd are still interestedHenry Irving said:https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/charlton-athletic-transfer-chief-talks-about-recent-bid-for-boreham-wood-youngster/

But according to Gallen we were looking at him as a "project" , so presumably not going into the first team & therefore we could afford to take that punt. Other clubs might not be able to do that & think that he is too "raw" & want someone for the here & now.paulie8290 said:

A number of EFL clubs have been placed under a transfer embargo after accepting a bridging loan from their governing body to avert short-term financial meltdown.
The EFL offered their members support to help pay this month's players' wages on the condition they will not be able to sign players until the money is paid back.
Several clubs have accepted the assistance so are currently unable to sign free agents and face a race against time if they want to be active in the January transfer window.
Until a deal is confirmed, the EFL's bridging loans allows clubs in the severest situation to survive and fulfil their next set of fixtures.
Should the Premier League bailout be agreed soon, it would allow bridging loans to be repaid by January so teams affected can sign players in the next window.
The EFL will not disclose the names of clubs currently under embargo but the number is fewer than 10.

Wonder if there's an interest rate on those loans.0

Just hope it doesnt force some owners into desperately selling their clubs to shady figures like Farnell / El Kashashy0
-
Unfortunately, that's exactly their plan IMHO.ForeverAddickted said:Just hope it doesnt force some owners into desperately selling their clubs to shady figures like Farnell / El Kashashy
The loan will, hopefully, keep these vultures away until the EPL package kicks in.3 -
A transfer embargo in November is hardly a major handicap. Obviously if nothing has changed by January, then things become a lot trickier
It would be interesting to know what division the sides are in. Indeed why does the EFL keep the identity of such sides confidential anyway, it hardly helped us last January that we were under a secret embargo1 -
I can't remember if we were ever linked with him, but Duncan Watmore has joined Middlesbrough on a short term contract1

True, but if you need a loan from the EFL to bail you out in November, i can't see how things are going to be any better come January?killerandflash said:A transfer embargo in November is hardly a major handicap. Obviously if nothing has changed by January, then things become a lot trickier

Until fans are allowed back these sides are obviously pretty fucked.0 -
Exactly the sort of quotes a player gives when he's out the door as soon as the transfer window opens again IMOLouisMend said:Asked Sorba Thomas about Charlton's bid and his future this evening after he scored an absolute belter for Boreham Wood at Bromley
