Omar Bogle - gone to Newport (p31)

The guy has no idea.
He scored some goals at Grimsby in League 2 and Solihull Moors in non-League.
When people go on about Gallen and his eye for a player, I will refer them back to Bogle.
Useless. And I'm being kind.
They were mostly rubbish and Bogle looked potentially one of the best, that was realistic.
So it's foolish to blame Gallen.
He can't be right all the time and should imagine it's very difficult to scout in Lockdown type scenarios.Lee Bowyer has been searching for a striker that fits the way he wants to play for much of the summer and was delighted to be able to complete the signing. He said: “It’s a position we needed to strengthen, so I’m over the moon with Omar’s signing. He’s good at everything, his all-around game as a striker is really good and we’ll improve him, which we do with all our players. He will be a very good striker in this division.
“I’ve said it before, we have to bring the right people in and Omar fits that. He’s another piece of the puzzle and slowly but surely we’re putting a decent squad together.”
You say 'foolish' ... I say 'wrong'.
He was being diplomatic.
He left it a few games and then said it.8 -
Weird to quote a manager who has just made a signing. Should he have said... We have taken a punt on Bogle as we need another body upfront; probably won't work out as he is crap but then again it is only a one year contract and the other option is to lob Pratley upfront (whom I will need as a CB instead).Dave Rudd said:

Unpopular FACT (according to the statbank)
Bogle actually has one of the best goal interactions in our squad.4 -
Quite, it's most peculiar than anyone doesn't understand.EricBanterna said:

Bowyer lavishes praise on his new signing (I’m over the moon with Omar’s signing. He’s good at everything, his all-around game as a striker is really good and we’ll improve him, which we do with all our players. He will be a very good striker in this division) and you see that as a piece of diplomacy to avoid saying what you believe he really thinks. Do you honestly believe that he would sign a player that he has no time for, and then 'big up' that player ... just to be 'diplomatic'? It's embarrassing that you even think so.
If he wanted to be diplomatic, I think he might have used much more neutral phrases ... phrases which would not come back to bite him (as they are doing now).
I also love Athletico Charlton's idea that we should ignore comments made by a manager at the time of signing a player. A curious rule to impose. I wonder, what is the preferred time interval that we need to wait before we can start to take such comments on face value? Do you have a rule for that too? And are there other rules from your strange world (weird world?) that the rest of us should also be aware of? It might save so much disagreement if you would only share them for the benefit of all of us.
Let's not de-rail the thread anyway. You have your views, I have mine. Let's leave it there.0 -
Yes it's called diplomacy which you clearly don't understand.1

Now I know not every tweet a footballer tweets is about football, but after not being in the squad Friday this is interesting from Bogle if he is talking about football
Out of sight. Out of mind🙇🏾♂️🤞🏾

If he scores a hatful out there, I am intrigued to see who will be the first person to claim that they always rated him, as people have done with Francis and Pope .. !CafcSCP said:

Good things to come on today’s appearance. Thought it was a decent cameo and if he can get a goal from somewhere it’ll be great for his confidence.

Really impressed with his cameo. Missing the 1-1 will be a personal disappointment for him. Looked a handful and combined well with Schwartz. Could be a decent option if we can get 2-0 up and bring him on to keep their defensive occupied.stoneroses19 said:Good things to come on today’s appearance. Credit where it's due, he put in a good performance today, looked a lot more up for it and unlucky not to put the game to bed12

Bowyer just needs to let him know he's joined an illustrious group of Strikers now, its a right of passage as a Charlton striker!!SouthWest_Addicks said:

Should have a Hall of Fame type board @ the Valley

Possibly his best performance for us I thought, should have scored the one on one though.2
-
Yeah I’d agree with that, thought he was decent which is a step up from what we normally see from him. Some of the praise for his 20 mins on the pitch which included a pretty bad miss is a bit OTT but hopefully he’ll take the positives and build on it.covered_end_junior said:Possibly his best performance for us I thought, should have scored the one on one though.1 -
As a Striker it probably wasnt a great game for him if you think about both the 1v1 and the incident that saw Schwartz stack itse9addick said:

Thought he really helped win the ball back at times, held the ball up and at one stage used his strength well to keep the ball down by the corner flag - If anything its perhaps worth using him and Aneke the other way around where its Aneke who tires the defences; Bogle then comes on as an outlet when the opposition are behind and are even more desperate for a goal so he's got even more space1 -

We draw that 1-1 or lose 2-1 and he would be cnuted off to high heaven for his miss, he has no credit in the bank unlike Schwartz7

If we'd drawn 1-1 would we have blamed:oohaahmortimer said:We draw that 1-1 or lose 2-1 and he would be cnuted off to high heaven for his miss, he has no credit in the bank unlike Schwartz
a) Bogle for missing a one on one
b) Schwartz for playing as an extra Rovers defender
c) Morgan for the red card3 -
d) Bowyer probably for losing his favourite underpants 😏Chris_from_Sidcup said:
