superdulvertonred said:The last thing we need at the moment is to sack Bob. A few new quality additions and we will be looking at the play off's rarther than relegation and I feel that this is what Roland will give us. Dont understand the negativity of some on here towards the owner. He has invested money the club (not just the pitch) is in a much better state than n it was before he took over. The network system may not be ideal but I think his overiding aim is to try and run within FFP and you cannot blame him for that. Keep the faith fellow lifers and have a Happy New Year.3

So Roland would need a new advisor?Interesting that when he resigned from Standard in October the official statement said that he had stepped down as head coach 'but would remain active in the network of Clubs'. I am fearing that this is actually true.
I just read a translated version of the WALL!foot article which stated he currently holds a advisor-type role in which he would visit the network clubs ... also from the same article it didn't sound like peeters was sacked (if true!) to be immediately replaced by Luzon ... just that Luzon was a candidate - something that I personally think is more plausible with the whole karel fraeye 'the bell rings for me!' quote!0 -
I went to the 5 nil away at Watford, worst Charlton game Ive ever been to. Left when Watford scored their 4th.0

It was truly awful.
Someone (not me) needs to find the match and post match threads for that game, just for reminiscing purposes.0 -

Top work @paulie8290.
Found my comments on page 7 of the post match embarrassment thread:
“was there and the impression I get is that we are a shambles from top to bottom.
there were level 1 basics not being followed out there today which made me look on with bemusement and sadness. 2nd balls not being fought for, central defenders not competing for headers, an inability to show for the ball etc.
am not one for getting hysterical after a loss but we are bang in trouble and if anyone thinks different then more fool them.
was talking to some Watford fans afterwards and they couldnt believe how easy we capitulated and how they expected a much tougher game.
It was pathetic and the players should have a look at the support today and have a look at themselves.
the only positive I took is that I'm glad I'm not a Watford supporter”.
Nice to reminisce sometimes.1 -

Yikes.
I'd forgotten that while Watt played a part, we made 3 key signings outside of the window in Roger Johnson, Chris Eagles and Alou Diarra
Also forgotten that used 4 keepers in the league that season, Henderson, Dmitrovic, Etheridge and Pope0 -

would love to see what he’d make of Gilbey, Williams, Maddison & co dipping out of tackles!
Gonna have to go back and see what I said when he was sacked now!0 -
Think we were the last team or second last team to lose in the league that year.
Other team may have been Forest. We lost lunchtime and they lost in the afternoon or vice versa.
Pretty vague on all the facts, but will be corrected soon enough.0 -
The irony was 14/15 probably ended up being the best season we ever had under Duchatalet in terms of league standing.0

The Norwich away game earlier in the season is one of my all time faves, Jacko nicking it for us right at the end. Loved looking at the stand next to us full of shellshocked naaaaarwich fans.0

Jacko ran the full lenth of the pitch and as he ran out of steam, almost falling over, shot from a long way out and the ball somehow found the net.
A young Gomez played at full back and had Nathan Redmond who was highly rated at the time in his pocket for most of the match.
K.G. came on late and was bullied by the Norwich centre back.
Peters claimed that an article in the Norwich evening news insulted Charltn which helped to galvanise the team.1 -

I enjoy reading these old threads confirming that what you thought was right.
I can see why Seriously Red gave up posting about football.
There's only so many years you can continue to be completely wrong.3 -

This game was THE most one sided 1-0 defeat you are ever likely to see.0 -
