Judging by the video Adkins posted on Twitter this morning, it doesn’t shout to me that it’s a done deal! He was off to get his vaccine!2

The list of candidates will likely be a lot better in 6 weeksEither way, this feels like a clean start in a number of ways, an established manager with a good track record and a decent owner who will back him. The first time in at least a decade we can really say that.1

with only ten games to go ,I believe we should stick with Johnny Jackson who knows the club and players inside out at least till the end of the season we still have a good chance of being in the play offs come may with jacko picking a much more attacking side especially at home.if we make the play offs keep him as manager.if not look outside the club, a new manager with no salary cap and ts’ financial back up l’d feel very confident of promotion next year1

I really don't want adkins... I'm pretty sure I posted on here saying I wanted him to replace someone as Charlton manager years back (maybe Dowie)... But he's done nothing of note for years and I'd say it is a totally uninspiring choice.0

@995632 there’s been literally 100s of posts explaining why some are uphappy/uninspired/underwhelmed mate.0

The list of candidates will likely be a lot better in 6 weeksIn ideal world, yes you have a man in place before so he can get a feel for the squad but this isn’t an ideal situation. It feels very rushed and reactionary to be handing out a long term contract to someone just days after the previous manager resigns.
It would be just another excuse/reason for the same again next season wouldn't it?
If we aren't tapping up" our top targets and talking to any of our out of contract players we want to keep soon you can bet your bottom dollar someone else will be.
Also Bowyer didn't just up and leave on Monday morning without anyone knowing about it did he?How do you know that? Jackson, who is very close with Lee, said yesterday it was completely unexpected and the first he heard of it was Sunday evening and the first the players heard of it was Monday morning. This forum has more “ITK” fans than the club has staff. If something was rumbling about Bowyer leaving, it would have leaked either from the the Birmingham end or from our side. I’d say it all happened very quickly.0 - Sponsored links:

I mean other than the fact it's a bit boring I don't really see the uproar.
He'll be better than Jackson just due to the fact he actually knows how to manage. He's been there and done it, all the way up to the Premier League.
He's a better manager than anyone we've had in the last 10 years minus maybe Powell.3 -
The last six promotions that Charlton have had, have been under managers who were already employed by the club when they were appointed or were former Charlton players.0
-
Howard Adkins being a trained Physiotherapist can only be a good thing at Sparrows Holby city Lane.

ONE person has said Adkins who has been wrong before. The bookie have no idea about Charlton and the names on there are laughable Riga FFS!TS still on the wave and JJ and Curbs for me. Be patient !0

Confirmed: Bowyer wants JJ with him at Birmingham, Cawley just tweeted.0

Re a name instead of Nigel , can I table ‘Nads’ — it’s a conjunction of Nigel and ADkinS and it can remind you all of my hairy ball sacks.0

Competition for players is going be tough so we can't be in a position, through choice, to miss out.

I will actually be quite happy if we end up with Adkins, an option I didn't really consider but his positives far outweigh his negatives. Some managers just fit like a glove and based on his personality & Sandgaards I believe it will be a good match. Very important the relationship between the owner and the manager, called it from the start I could never envision Lee and Thomas building a long lasting relationship.
I reckon if we all take a deep breath and look at it properly it's not as bad as it first seems.

Ooo no this is bad news i feel if jacko feels he isnt being given his chance or pushed to the sidelines by a new manager he will go0

I think he’ll go unless he’s offered the job full time here. Would JJ run the risk of interim job here then potentially being unemployed in the summer? I’m not sure he would.2
-
Lee Bowyer wants Johnnie Jackson as his assistant manager at Birmingham City.Get lost Bowyer.

If JJ is offered assistant here or assistant and Brum I honestly think he’ll stay here. He is a London boy and happy here. I can’t seem him relocating his entire family for a position he may already here which he loves.5
