We looked tired, but overall were still by far the better team. Had some great opportunities but seemed to overcomplicate it in trying to play through them all the time when they had bodies back.
Oh well. Can't win them all.4 -
Kirk is just a slow and obvious link up player.3

It was a weird sort of game, Morecambe offered next to nothing and we dominated for large parts, but we looked sloppy and tired throughout. It's two points dropped. Onto the next.

But then if he's shown to be iffy in training when dealing with a physical striker, then Stockton would have ended his career.2 -
One word - Knackered. We were the better team but lacked that cutting edge . Davison was poor . On to Saturday0

Team looked tired. With our main centre backs in, Morecambe unlikely to score either goal. Referee missed clear fouls on Gunter and Clare. Without those refereering decisions Morecambe don't score and game is won.Soft penalty. Gunter could have done better but one of regular centre backs is not pushed back like that. Referee then gave a succession of soft free kicks and was inconsistent, giving cards to Charlton but ignoring similar.Stockley in and Jason Pearce or Sam Lavelle in that game is won. Davisson maybe could have come off earlier for Mason Burstow. Passing was a bit sloppy. Charlton were better near the end with some better possession. Its a draw, with all the players missing its disappointing not to win but its still onwards and upwards. This team is still way better under Johnnie Jackson.

Sorry to say we aren't a top 6 side. Still think we will finish somewhere around 10th to 12th. Look at the table & lots of teams above us have games in hand & we are realistically 12 points off top 6.
But seeing where we were a month ago I'll take mid table. If Sandgaard wants promotion he needs to spend money in January. We are at least 1 striker light - probably 2.2 -
Disappointing to throw away a 2 goal lead. Should be winning these games if we want to go up, not least because we were better than them, but also because we were 2-0 up. Dobson, Clare, Purrington, Gilbey, Washington all played a blinder. Gunter poor at crucial moments and Davison not really good enough. Hard to see why we have Kirk. Didn’t really add anything significant when he came on. Lee needs to take more care with his final pass. Hopefully we can get the 3 points on Saturday and it will feel like a decent week.

We're unlikely to get promoted with a keeper who never comes for crosses, though, and I've honestly seen enough to know he never will.1 - Sponsored links:

Always disappointed to throw away a 2-0 lead. Short term injuries are a huge problem. Hoping Jacko will look to freshen it up against Shrewsbury. If we win on Saturday, the 2 points dropped will be forgotten about.3

Unbelievable for a ref at this level to blowing up when he did.
We looked tired. Gunter, Clare and Famewo as a back 3 against the cloggers from Morecambe were brave but add in Pearce, Innis or Lavelle in place of Gunter and we win that game.
Davison tries so hard I would love him to do well but we need better Stockley back up, have done all season.
Kirk disappointed with the time and space he had on the ball at the end, I was screaming for him to get down the line and he just Bambi's around then cuts back to his right.
5 wins and 2 draws from 7 is a phenemenal effort and even when we don't win like tonight you can see the effort and game plan which was lacking at the end of Adkins reign.4 -
Scott Minto: You should be absolutely delighted with what's happened so farJacko: Yeah I am ScottNeed to tell that to your face Johnnie6

There was an obvious foul on us and the ref took an age to give it. I said to my son that his instinct was he didn't want to but he eventually realised it would have looked ridiculous not to so he gave it. I told him he worried me. A decent ref who didn't have a draw on his betting slip and we would have won that.3

Ormiston_Addick said:Bottom line is that with Pearce/Lavelle/Inniss at the back instead of Gunter and Stockley for Davison we'd have won that 3-0.
You're only as good as your weakest link and that big clogger number 9 attached himself to Gunter in the full knowledge he'd get something - and he was spot on.
Contrast their number 9 with Davison who offered us absolutely nothing up front, he couldn't win a header and failed to hold the ball up at all for us.
Morecambe were delighted with a point, once they took the lead they put ten men behind the ball and never bothered coming out again.
In the January window we desperately need another striker to support Stockley and Washington, Davison is not going to be able to give us what we need unless he raises his game by about 50%.
Dobson was outstanding again, how the hell were Watson and others starting in front of him?8 -

Gunter got bullied.
Morecambe offered nothing. Literally.I struggle to see how Kirk fits into any position, with this formation Jacko has got us playing well in.
We looked sloppy and tired towards the end, following big shift Saturday.
Meh. But, I guess if you can’t win the game, don’t lose it.4 -
Compared to earlier in the season that was light years ahead. We kept trying to find the opening to score and I can't remember the last time we had so much of the ball.
Washington, Dobson and Gilbey were out standing.
We were clearly a striker short and a CB short.
Agree with Brownie, the lack of Stockley, Inniss, Pearce or Lavelle cost us big time at the corner which was a poor goal to give away.
It feels likes a lost but an away point and 14 points from 18 is excellent. The squad is stretched but may only be me but I thought we controlled the 2nd half without the clinical finish.

Jackson got it wrong first half playing Gunter up against Stockton. Rectified that 2nd half.....defensive injuries piling up for us0
-
Disappointing result and 2 poor goals conceded We looked very tired. Would have taken 4 points from the 2 games anyway, so not all bad. 14 points out of the possible 18 available under Jackson is a great return.6
-
We are absolutely jinxed with injuries and shit refs.9

Absolutely don't want Hasselbaink anywhere near Charlton.

Sean Clare's reading of the game is looking good.11

I’m not a violent person but I’d have punched that ref right in the fucking mooer!10

At the game and awaiting a train back to Lancaster.
Boys looked mentally knackered with 20 to go but still kept going till the end. Saturday clearly took his toll but 14 points in the last 6 is top 2 form.
Enjoyable trip with the old faces up here tonight. Can’t beat it with the cold air on your flesh11 -

Chris_from_Sidcup said:I thought we looked tired, which is no surprise given the effort on Saturday and we're missing Stockley, Lavelle, Pearce, Inniss, Leko, Matthews, Souare.
In an ideal world we could've probably done with rotating 2-3 players tonight if we had more options. But at least we didn't lose. Win saturday and we'd have had a good week.
Oh and the ref was shit!We just lacked that bit of quality in the final third and were a bit slow to get the ball up the pitch. Great ball from Jayisemi for Washington and if he had got his shot away rather than the block that might have been that.Got done on a set piece but I admired how we tried to push on after they equalised. Decent attacking subs by Jackson as well. We looked the more likely to score after they equalised, but they packed the area well at the end and you could see the likes of Elliott Lee twisting and turning to try and find space, but it was never gonna happen.Pleased we didn’t lose and we remain unbeaten and continue to work hard. Agree with Rich Cawley’s tweet about fatigue and players out. Think Stockley would’ve been a good option tonight up top to rough their Centre Backs up. Would’ve given us that presence up top. They’ll get their rest in and be ready for Shrewsbury, I’ll get home to Charlton at about 4am when the coach drops us off and the lack of leg room would’ve given me deep vein thrombosis. We go again10
