Norwich fans seem quite happy they have us.
They're some of the nicest fans in the Football League - They'd find a positive out of anything
I’ve always found them to be the complete opposite whenever we’ve played them. Very arrogant and always trying to tell everyone why their club is better than anyone else.
Well, I've lived here 25 years now and have a good few mates who are Norwich fans.

Not sure who you've met or what you were drinking/taking at the time, but one thing that Norwich fans aren't, is arrogant.

Like the city itself, it's a really decent football club with a fanbase that has realistic expectations and who understand the club's limitations.
    Ok?

Ive known a few Norwich fans from my younger years who I found insufferable and were incapable of talking about anything without bringing it back to Norwich every single time. Had similar experiences with them at games against Charlton.

Didn’t realise it wasn’t allowed to say anything negative about Norwich!
What was the name off the 'away' pub at Norwich back in the 90's....not sure if it's still there now.

    I’m thinking  “Compleat Angler”

Maybe now but I'm going back to March 96 quite a small pub with a pool table towards the back....anyone in there after the game (we won 1-0....Bradley Allen) would remember it.

Complete angler is opposite the station. Never had a pool  table. Can't think of the pub you are thinking of but then I would generally drink in my own locals. Have not missed a Charlton v Norwich game either home or away since moving to norfolk in 1988. Always made a big day of the games here in Norwich with my family and friends all coming up for the weekend. Many a drunken weekend and usually have won here apart from the one where Svennson scored in the last minute. Some very happy days though especially when Hunt got his hatrick. I also seem to recall Mending a getting a hatrick in an evening game? Who can forget super Bradley Allen's winner!
  • My god how times have changed.

We draw a Premier League club at home and plenty of posters already hoping Norwich rest their first team and play reserves so it increases our chances of winning.

What happened to the days when we were buzzing that we would get the chance to see top division stars playing at The Valley and our lesser known players and manager pitting their wits against them.

Thank god I am old enough to remember going to Liverpool, Man United and Blackburn in the FA Cup to witness full strength first team sides going up against each other.

    It's Norwich.

I'm not sure if i'm getting whooshed but this is a weird take, very Katrien Meire. We wanna get through, best chance of that is if they play a weak team.

So what happens in the next round, do you want to play other clubs reserves all the way to the final. The pizza cup is there if you want to watch under 21 sides.

The words giant killing and cup upset are being weakened. On paper if our first team beats a Norwich reserve side the press will be using these words but In reality it’s a mockery.

I think you've answered your own question - those days were 20 years ago when we were a relatively successful PL team!

20 years later, given where we currently are, you take what you can get!

yeah, I think Norwich fans will be hoping that Dean Smith playing him will be enough to convince Chelsea to let him stay as they were calling him back in January due to Farke refusing to play him

Back then (1990s) we were a decent Championship side, not a 3rd division side. The opposition would have to take us more seriously

I am not looking forward to seeing any Norwich players in particular, all I hope is they do not send an under 21 side to play us however we live in a world were the PL and Sky is King so I won't hold my breath.

I suspect the same posters calling for the Norwich reserves will be whining on here when the game is not a sell out and only two or three sides of the ground are open.

Yes, I hope to one day tell my children that I saw Tim Krul play at The Valley. I'm old enough to remember actually seeing Norwich's Grant Hanley play at The Valley for Blackburn, back in the golden days of, er, 2012. This is not a star-studded Norwich team. If we get our fingers out and perform to the level we should we'll be in the same division as them next season.

They will if demand calls for it
  • Got a 3rd round draw v an albeit unglamorous premier league club.

Should pack the valley for this otherwise it will be a bit hypoctitical to keep bemoaning our shite efforts in the cup.

Yes a glamour tie v a big club is what most of us want but it's the 3rd round of the best cup competition in the world and we've got a top flight  side at home.

Pack the ground, get behind the lads and who knows the magic of the cup might see us nick it and get that big game at old Trafford in the 4th round (or huddersfield at home).

How are only 2/3 sides of the stadium going to be open ? Top Premier league side or smaller lower league team are usually what fans want... Norwich are neither.

We are in the bottom half of league one.
If Norwich play their first eleven we will get well beaten.
Play their youngsters and we have a fighting chance.
That is all posters on here are saying.
Plus if we were to win the game we would have a chance of playing a real big premier club and Norwich are certainly not that.

Really doubt there will be a big crowd, I predict between 12-15k.
