  • I'm interested in seeing how seriously The Canaries supporters are taking us and The FA Cup now it looks like their Premiership season is over.

no probs - i do agree that season ticket holders should get a grace period to buy their seat - albeit mine is in north upper so i normally watch from west lower for fa cup which makes the experience even worse - but i'd just put it down as a one off, let the club know you're not happy but still get a ticket

just got my dad one in north upper - his lower west seat is gone so he's coming into the mosh pit - we might actually agree we've watched the same game afterwards for once

Norwich very very poor again this evening.
  • I retract what I said. Norwich are like an average championship side, we could beat them if we're enthusiastic enough with our best 11

Before the club decided on what stands to open/close surely season ticket holders should have been given priority in line with previous seasons and as part of the commitment the club made when selling season tickets. As my season ticket seat has been sold already my protest will be to not go at all, they do not appear to have any justification to act the way they have and even the person I spoke to in the ticket office stated that they had received plenty of complaints about this already and will pass them on to senior management who made the decision.
We really do have some 'weird' fans!
I find it very strange that with everything that is currently going on in the world that you have decided to protest by not going because your seat has been sold.

The reason I will not be attending is primarily because it has always been the norm for the club to offer season ticket holders a period where their seat is reserved for a period of time, for this match though they have changed the policy with no notice given to season ticket holders. Not sure on what basis this gives you the right to suggest that this makes me "weird". I happen to have occupied the same seat with a season ticket since the West Stand was built and during this time I have become friends with many of the fans seated around me. I have been a season ticket holder for many years previous to this and have followed CAFC for over 50 years which some people may see as "weird". With regard to everything that is currently going on in the world, I cannot control any of this but unlike some I take these things seriously but as stated above my reason for protest is simply that the club has chosen to arbitrarily change a policy without any warning.
Cutting off your nose to spite your face, it seems to me.

I never knew Jason Bourne was taking such a close interest in fixture scheduling. Not sure it'll be a very exciting movie
It's because he's lost his identity.

..... ...........a bit like the FA Cup with all this rescheduling bollocks.

He told Talksport if they didn't let him cover Leicester games he would quit. It was the Bourne ultimatum.

I will be shocked if we play a full strength first team, I suspect JJ will rest some of our players as well. As for Norwich I suspect you will not recognise most, if not all of the players.

JJ has said all along that he won’t rest players for FA Cup games hasn’t he? He’d love a good cup run, as I’m sure most of us would too.

He hasn't promised anything though. Promotion hopes receding may make him take both the cup games more seriously than he would have done if we'd been higher up the table

Would imagine his views on the cup may have changed now with another league fixture added in for January.

I'd hope we go for it. We're not going up kr down, so may as well try in the cup for once

I don't know what any of them look like so that's a pretty safe bet.

I doubt he will rest players. They have had a winter break.

Norwich’s game on NYD has been postponed due to COVID
  • Am I right in saying first Premier League side we have played in a competitive match at the Valley since we got relegated?

I would have expected any Charlton fan to be really looking forward to this, seems not to be the case though.

the prem team thing is irrelevant to me, its knowing i'm going to be watching a full strength Charlton team that matters - even when we played man utd in their pomp i never watched their players, only ours - i actually preferred playing the smaller prem clubs as they were better games and less chance of the away end erupting and condescending - give me a 1-0 win over scunthorpe than a 1-0 defeat to man utd any day

Unfortunately East Stand Mike you are right the FA Cup is dying on its arse. When I was growing up it was the pinnacle of the season for many. Ipswich twice , Spurs Watford and West Ham before promotion in the eighties were some of if not the biggest games/ crowds we had in the eighties. I still dream that I will see us at Wembley in the FA Cup one day and would prefer that to a season in the Premier League.
  • Any idea how many tickets we have sold for this in the home end?
