If Lyle got our very very very unlikely playoff ambitions back on track why on earth wouldn’t anyone want him back. Without a player of his ability both this and next season we won’t be going anywhere.4

I am in the minority, would take him back in a heartbeat.
What happened before, happened. He could have played and we still go down. And yes I know it’s not about that, it’s what happened and how it happened and how it was all about him and we would have had a better chance but we still could have gone down.
Being so precious and holding onto that pain from before to ensure we inflict more pain on ourself by standing still in this awful league makes no sense. It’s insane.
If he were to ever come back (which he won’t now) he’d likely make the difference between success and failure. Turning down success when the club desperately needs it, beyond me.
Anyway, Aneke on his way and least we should enjoy watching him when he’s on the pitch for the rest of this season.14 -

Not to mention football fans are fickle. Gallen has also said previously he thinks if he ever came back and quickly started scoring goals, fans would take it and get on side again. And I make him right.

Jack Payne is one of those players who has been linked with us a few times over the years . I would only sign him for 18 months and then review the situation . I agree that he might not fit in to the Championship , but he could be part of a promotion squad next season . As a left footer he does offer us something different or can we rely on JFC ?
He fits one of our patterns for new signings . He is currently injured .

You don’t do that. Yes, there are many reasons we went down that year but if Lyle had played and put some of them chances away we just kept missing, we stay up.Either way, you don’t refuse to see out your contract because you have a better deal elsewhere and don’t want to mess it up.I find it amazing people would actually accept him back 😂7 -
Can't believe Coutinho has signed for Villa. What a signing that is for them!!0

When Taylor was on the actual pitch playing for us I thought he was very good and best of all gave everything.
And scored goals.
As a player great, the other things matter if he is no good on the pitch, hides, and doesn’t score goals.0 -
I really think some of you fail to see the fickleness of the game you love so much.
It's shithouse on every level. No player, certainly most cares about the badge or the sacrifice fans make each week despite what they say.
You need to take it for what it is.8 -

I’d love Chuks to be our impact sub for the rest of the season but I think the Stockley injury changes things as we all know you can’t rely in Chuks for 90mins every Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday.
The info on Jayden all seems quite vague so my gut is telling me it’s not a 2 week injury.
tbh the best of the 3 strikers is Lyle, he’s a significant upgrade on Stockley & Chuks ( if motivated) but while I wouldn’t mind I think too much water has oasssd under that bridge.

Lyle Taylor isn't coming back. The bloke is so arrogant he actually think we fans treated him poorly when he left.1

I always remember being told by one of LT’s good friends that he was furious with Bow.
Apparently after he made the decision to leave Bow & him agreed it would be kept in house but Bow then broke his word and went to the press and LT was steaming that a trust had been broken and wouldn’t play for him again.
Ive often wondered if LT might have changed his mind if Bow had done differently.Still all in the past now.1 -

I want out of this division as quickly as possible and if someone said to me if you sign Taylor you will be promoted but if you don’t you’ll stay in this awful league for however longer, I wouldn’t hesitate in the slightest.
I think it’s a shame that so many would when in reality he missed only 3 games due to when his contract actually expired if he didn’t want to extend beyond the period due to the circumstances. We picked up 7 points in those 3 and only 2 in the remaining 6. And like I said, I know it’s how it happened and the time and the ownership at the time didn’t help, the whole situation was awful.
But again, football fans are fickle and if he ever came back and scored a load of goals, the past will quickly remain in the past.5 -
who is this Taylor bloke people are talking about?7
