Funny how no one seems to have read on January 16, I mentioned Nile John  18 year old Spurs under 23 midfielder,as a real rumor.
What have you heard? Everyone seemed certain it was the right back? I think he’d be great for our midfield this season.

The only thing is that I'm not sure we'd sign Browne and John , wouldn't they both operate in similar roles?
  • How did Paddy Lane (32) get on today for Fleetwood? Impressed?

Been banging the drum for us to sign him up for a couple of months now. Think he offers something we don’t have atm.

I didn't  notice him that much. Morris was sharp when he came on for Fleetwood .
    For about 10 minutes.

Can we buy a new JFC or rush him back with some medical wizardry somehow

The fact we haven't replaced JFC, who has been unavailable since April is a serious blunder.

First ten or fifteen minutes I thought he was going to rip us apart, properly tailed off after that really.

Wonder if we could do a straight swap with Kirk.

  • Lane would be brillianr. My Brentford supporting mate said he saw Fleetwood at AFC ans he was head and shoulders above every player. Would be a great swap with Kirk.
  • If Lane is as highly rated as he seems to be then he will be going to the championship

It was ment to be about now but there is no rush now probably best just making sure he doesn't break down and is ready for the start of next season now.

So many saying “why bother” we have no chance of the playoffs…we are only 13 points off with 90 to play for…I’d say playoffs are unlikely BUT not over yet.  Go on a run of wins and a few above have injuries/lose key players and it is still possible ….
Massively unlikely based on our current form I’m afraid. Perhaps two or three signings might spark a revival, you never know I suppose.

That'd depend if he signs a contract with us for next season though.

I know there is an option for another year, but not sure if that option lies with us or with him.

I would be very suprised if he isn't here next season.

Imagine somebody taking JFC after his ACL without playing a single game. What level of quality or rust would you expect.

That's what we may be doing with Browne.

go far enough south and keep going and you'll make it to Ayr.

All the talk of Paddy Lane for them on Saturday, I thought the kid on the other wing was a right handful, Cian Hayes.

Clare struggled against him first half, he’s only 18 was like a Jack Russell with his pressing and general wing play.

Agree, Hayes was very good.  Cleary an intelligent, skillful player

"Charlton set to listen to any offers for Pape Souare. Former Palace defender has dropped well down the pecking order after the arrival of Juan Castillo."

Should have bought/loaned a proper LB in the summer rather than some unfit 31 year old.

Another failure of our recruitment in the summer.

Pape Souare could be cleared to leave Charlton Athletic in the January transfer window with the former Crystal Palace defender struggling for first-team action.

I thought their lad Jay Matete stood out in the middle of the park.
