Also integrating players for next season makes sense.5 -
I don’t think we’ll pay what Ipswich are after, would he suit our style of play?0

If Fraser injured or just completely out of favour?
I notice he hasn't played a single minute for them since being subbed off against us at the Valley.0 -

Problem with highlights like this is that all those clips were playing for an MK Dons team whose fluid attacking football couldn’t be further from the brand we play at the moment. When he is on the ball he is going to need runners and movement in front of him from players who are willing to receive the ball to feet, which is something we completely lack unless Washington is on the pitch. Even then his movement is more for a ball over the top and into the channels (which he is incredible good at controlling, just a shame his conversation rate is lacking).2 -

What is a double 8 other than 16,two large ladies or a finish at Darts ?
Attended lots of football managers meetings back in the day and watched and listened to lots of young professional coaches at work in the last year but have never heard double 8 mentioned or seen it written on a board ?
Number 10's are well known talking in football vernacular but I can only imagine double 8's are part of 4-2-2-2 ?

Fraser scored 5 that weren't penalties in his last season for MK Dons and has one so far this season for Ipswich so pretty comparable with Lee purely in numbers, wouldn't you say?2 -

An example really is that when Robinson was in charge, Kashi would have been the 4, Forster-Caskey the 8, and Clarke the 10.
It can work with a back 3 and by having the extra central defender, if you had two players like Forster-Caskey in midfield in front of the sitter, one of them would need to be more athletic and be the player who really gets up and scores more than the other.
Ultimately, it’s just a midfielder who brings different things to the team. Putting a number on it helps people to identify, it doesn’t always have to be the right or most commonly used terminology.1 -

The cool kids can't count !. It doesn't really matter how you write it down, it's how you get 3 or 4 in the middle of the park and 5 or 6 in attack when you have the ball and 7 or 8 behind it when you don't. In the right place.

Lee has been given a free role in midfield and two goals to show for it is pitiful IMO, and why JJ is looking so hard for an attacking midfielder.0 - Sponsored links:

Ipswich fans on Fraser https://www.twtd.co.uk/forum/529223/2nd-charlton-bid-for-fraser
Created 31 chances for Ipswich, more than any other player, though it probably includes set pieces https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/ipswich-town/top-scorers/assists
Having read that and the other links posted it seems the question marks are over his fitness, work rate, athleticism etc. However any creative CM at this level is going to lack something in their game, perhaps alongside two mobile energetic players in Dobson and Gilbey (or John?) we'll have a good balance and will be able to support a player like Fraser. The player in that role needs to produce more than Lee has been.
If Castillo settles in well having pace and more of a threat (other than attacking the far post) than Purrington will make a difference too. As will having Chuks up front over Davison or Leko.2 -
For comparison Lee has created more chances (44) and has a higher chances per 90 at 1.76 minutes https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/charlton-athletic/top-scorers/assists3

If someone else could take free kicks and corners that fact he can't wouldn't matter. If our strikers finished more of the chances he did given them it would be enough.
It's endemic in the club no one person, or thing, is either THE problem nor THE solution.4 -
Someone on the 'other' forum has claimed Fraser is having a medical.7
