Will we make the playoffs?

We are closer to the relegation places than top 6. We currently have very little up front , wingers who cant cross & midfielders who don't score.
Anyone want to disagree.. ?2 -

We will finish between 8th & 10th
We are actually in a bit of a false position due to most teams having played less games than us. Lose to Wimbledon on Boxing Day & with their games in hand they could be above us soon, along with 2 or 3 other teams.
Our points tally will be around 68-70 points.
First time I said between 8th & 10th
Then I said between 10th & 12th
Now I'm saying 10th to 14th.0 -

this should be called will we avoid relegation from now on.
I think likely not.0 -
Been giving this some thought this morning. The fact we are so far off the play offs at this stage is under performance of huge proportions.
I try not to be reactive after a bad one but most concerning thing for me was the attitude as soon as we conceded. It was always going to be difficult given those absent, but it was very clear there was an accepting ‘season over, little fight mentality’ throughout.
That then leads to petulance & ill discipline. The season is over, but that doesn’t justify half heartedness in Feb. Not many players will be waking with sore muscles this morning like they were 2 months ago when competing with Rotherham, beating Sunderland, Plymouth etc…
There’s still 14 games, we need to see the increased effort that was evident in the post-Adkins transition. Players show they want to be here next season & good enough to go for promotion.
Our fans will never accept mid-table L1 as being acceptable achievement for our club. I’m fed up with our club being in what feels like a permanent state of disappointment and toxicity but we’ll still never be accepting of that.

I forgot after MK Dons. Slap on the wrist...36 from 12 required. Out of my misery next week most likely.7

Assuming no no balls bowled in the last 12, of course.

The snookers have come earlier than even I have thought. Fancy being out of the play off hopefuls by the end of February......and in a relegation scrap instead.0

if we get 36 from 12 and make play-offs can we all agree to call it an "Ultra Golfie" ??0

I was talking to someone in the pub before the away game at Fleetwood.
He was convinced we would be top 2, although I said it was virtually impossible.
Even then I said we needed top 2 form to snatch 6th place.1 -

Even with my rose-tinted specs on, right now I can't see us even getting near that!

I won't take the money as he's a mate but the blind faith some of our fans have at times is staggering.3 -

I also agree we are underachieving.
My point is that this present bunch of players are mainly shite and until we have a major overhaul we are going nowhere.0 -
Another couple of games and it won't even be mathematically possible!0

Bump.
20 games to play. 41 points needed to reach 75.0 -
I do think our season is over however we do look a completely different side with O’Connell back and with Ness looking so solid! One game at a time! Same old Charlton, you know we will take it right to the death most probably, it’s what we do.1
-
It's doable. I suspect a lot depends on what happens off the pitch, so while I hopeful I'm not excited about our prospects.1
-
No.
Need another 41-43 points.
20 games to go
Need to win 13 & draw 2 or 3
Means losing just 4 or 5 more
Not happening.
But we will stay up.

Given ourselves to much to do I imagine.
Another 2 difficult games coming up. Somehow get 4 points from that, then I’ll change my mind a little bit.1 -
Can we? Yes. Will we? Probably not given the teams in front of us.
But a strong second half and filling out the squad and getting players settled will be an excellent way to go into next season. There are a lot of good teams in the league this year. Three obviously won't be here next season, and Wigan, Blackpool, and Cardiff don't really scare me.2
