    You can't have jobbers because of the way they make money now.   The reason for every match is basically a ratings pop. 

    Two of the very best "solid midcarders" were post strike force Tito and post midnight Eaton.  They beat jobbers, they come close to beating the "top midcarders" and put on a good match with the "top guys".

    If either of them were doing the rounds now they would be labelled as misused or boring.

    The way all wrestling is booked now almost everyone, by your definition, is a midcarders.  Including the AEW world champion and Omega.  That's the problem.

    I would say there are probably only 5ish people in the world (using the superbowl version of world) who are "over".

    The mid-carder is the mechanic/worker. They help to make the stars, by being able to make them look great but lack the x-factor to be stars themselves. Will be interesting to see what happens with Cesaro, got a feeling he'll be in their midcard.

    AEW have been able to take the hit of losing three of their biggest names in Moxley, Omega and Rhodes from TV in recent months and it didn’t feel like the show was lacking in star power at all.

    When I said “where they were before” I was referring to the WWE main roster, where they were being used horrendously

    This has been a problem, in ever promotion for 30 years.  What is a solid mid carder?

    And why do you want them? 
    It’s not a matter of wanting them, it’s a logistical inevitability. They have 3 hours of weekly television to fill, with one world title. There will always be a need for angles that are there to elevate future main event talent (MJF was a mid carder not too long ago).

    For me, a solid mid carder is somebody who wouldn’t look out of place in an Intercontinental/TNT title picture, but would also be a credible threat if they did get a chance at the top prize once in a while. In current terms somebody like a Darby Allin I could see filling that role. 

    Owen Hart, Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, Kane. They all added major value at a mid card level for long spells of their career. All have had hall of fame careers, and there are plenty of others who fall into that category too. 

    You could even argue that the top women’s wrestlers are typically ‘solid mid carders’ - Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Lita, Trish Stratus, Sasha Banks. But they all have star power all the same.

    When I said “where they were before” I was referring to the WWE main roster, where they were being used horrendously 
    The problem was they moved to a roster that was already top heavy. The likes of Finn Balor, Robbie Rhode, Kevin Owens could be main eventers but there wasn't space for them and they were stuck in mid card hell with Zigler, Miz etc. Likewise one of the big criticism of WCW, i can see AEW being effected by it to.

    He changed the business forever when he first turned up on Nitro and started by second favourite ever angle after Austin v McMahon. I think this hurts because I thought he had turned a corner and was on the mend. He was a great worker and had a great mind for the business before his demons took over.

    I hope someone gets a Hey Yo! in on WWE or AEW soon, or comes out with a toothpick and flicks it at someone in his honour. (It'll probably be MJF and he'll get nuclear heat over it)

    I've noticed ever since John Huber's passing good ol' JR says "it's ____ night, you know what that means" in tribute to him, which is a nice touch.

    I have watched that twice today, in my 3:16 t-shirt, drunk 10 beers and stunnered my boss.  Only one of those things isn't true.
