But Kirk is the player getting into central areas when the ball's played out of defence ie where JS should be !ForeverAddickted said:
Because the problem isnt the Striker?EugenesAxe said:Stockley off leeburn on in the middle, why not?
How many chances has Stockley wasted for us today, bloke is an easy target because he hasnt put it in the net this season.
Payne or CBT for Kirk at the moment is the best solution0 -
We can't cope with Bolton's shape. Garner needs to change something, whether shape or personnel, as the Bolton players have had so much space1
-
Do we know how hard he pushed? Serious question. For all I know he was begging for one on bended knee.ForeverAddickted said:
In which case why didn't Garner push harder for a Striker to replace Stockley - All the players signed appear to be his choices, so if he knew that JS was so limited he should have pushed for him ahead of others who aren't starting.lancashire lad said:Stockley is playing in a system that doesn't suit him. Garner apparently watched videos of last season's games so must have seen that Stockley does not suit his system and he must have known of Chuks difficulties and didn't attempt to recruit a striker until just before the window closes, guess the T&MS know better
Awful first half btw. Need to switch things around a bit in the second half.1 -
None of the attacking 5 have added anything except the goal. Too far apart. Really worrying how much we're missing Purrington at LB.0
-
Kicking towards the long travelled Addicks second half, let's see how that fares..

People being disappointed about us losing and falling to 13th in L1 is not an over reaction. You are allowed to be disappointed. It is part of being passionate about your team.Dazzler21 said:These overreactions 🤣
It's not great for sure, but we knew it wouldn't be a good performance after that transfer window deadline day6 -
Leaburn for Kirk and a good old box midfieldSDAddick said:
I don't know that going to 4-4-2 is going to help our being dominated in midfield. I don't know that 3-5-2 suits us well.Talal said:
He'll be dominated too. Is there not a way we can play both up there? Got to be some flexibility with the formation.EugenesAxe said:Stockley off leeburn on in the middle, why not?0 -

Offside, Charlton Athletic. Scott Fraser tries a through ball, but Charlie Kirk is caught offside.

Bolton look different class. How can they hang on to players like Santos and Charles?1

No comparison. They get the players they want to suit the plan.FishCostaFortune said:
Go and Google all the top managers in the premiership. Google their name and ‘plan B’, and see what comes up and report back here thanks.Hartleypete said:when will we ever get a decent manager who will pick a team and a system that will make it difficult for the opposition.
If it’s not working have a plan b for fucks sake.
We have to make do. We're playing against a team that likes passing football who are at home with a big crowd. Therefore bang the ball up and then across into the mixer as often as possible with our big lump to head it and cause a nuisance. Get the others to pick up the scraps and bang it at the goal. Put them under pressure.
Meanwhile, out of possession, undertake some of the unsettling tactics that our peers in the bottom half of the third division do to us at home.
Football's a simple game and sometimes we make it too complicated.2 -
Well that’s Rak-Sayki out for a long period of time now.
Season officially over.2 -
If that's JRS out for a while we are in trouble.1
-
The fate of our season might hang on how serious this is for JRS0
-
JRS down, might be a bad one, knee.
Please no FFS0 -

Yeah still on4 -
Okay, but when Santos and Jones double up on Stockers, who else is going to get on the end of crosses into the mixer? Albie? JRS? Kirk? Football is more complicated than many people realize. We're not a team built to get it wide and put loads of balls in the mixer. We tried that with Jacko. We weren't good at it.jimmymelrose said:
