No. There are still to be found post boxes from monarchs before Elizabeth II. GIIR AND VIIR are still about.

Cheers @clb74 wife and son going later this afternoon. Figure be less busy Sunday teatime than after work later this week what with the Queen’s body returning to London on Tuesday 

I got the 8.50 train yesterday morning and my train was busier than a normal work morning. Easily Reckon more than 50% were going to pay respects. 

Have a friend visiting from abroad so decided to go up to Buckingham Palace yesterday. It was so busy in places that we couldn't move. Heard the crowds cheering King Charles' car just as we left.

Unfortunately I have seen people trying to suggest his sense of entitlement,  when trying to get the objects moved out of the way. Sad to see people making political points out of it.

I think also, we need to take into consideration, he must be under immense stress with grief that his mum has died and he has to do public duties/appearances immediately and maintain composure. So no surprise that a "little thing" (to us) could make him react like that. I know I would get so stressed and overwhelmed/break down over a tiny little thing in the aftermath of my mum dying.

I have been an atheist since I was 8 years old and have never wanted to be a subject but I appreciate the lack of an alternative without a civil way taking place again as many folk are Monarchists until they die and no doubt as they believe in a big G after as well !

King Charles III unlike his Mother who was 50 years younger when becoming Queen  has had a lifetime to prepare for the job of king. 

Where the Queen would only give her views in the Royal circle, Charles has been out spoken on many issues.

Charles and William will work together as the king knows his productive period will be in the next decade, nature willing, and he will want the baton to be handed over to  William in a smooth as possible a way and that the new Prince of Wales continues the Journey to reflect a 21st century monarchy that has to change to stay relevant but will want to still be at the head and heart of the ever changing demographics of the United Kingdom.

I have been watching the Crown on Netflix and the news over the last few days in tandem and it's seems quite seamless when the late Queen Elizabeth had to make difficult decisions and not be bullied by Royal advisors, Prime ministers or the media. Learning on the job in her 20's was difficult but the Queen dedicated her life for 70 years to the job.

Amazing Longevity that we will never see again.

I'm an atheist and used to be a smuggy anarchist,  but it was just an incorrect sense of believing I knew best.

The monarchy is very important for our country and long may it continue. 

We do NEED the monarchy, whether we like it or not.

Just catching up and I’ve quoted this post for no other reason than the last line.

I’m not a massive monarchist in that I’ve never visited Buck House, Windsor Castle etc, not been to the Changing of the Guard, never watched Royal Weddings on TV etc but I’ve always believed that as a country we’d be far, far worse off without them.

I’ve always been afraid that the passing of Queen Elizabeth could lead to the demise of the Monarchy but the last few days has surprisingly changed my mind. I think that many have realised they have been more affected by her passing than they thought would have, that many have ‘enjoyed’ the process that has entailed, the succession ceremony, the protocols, histories and traditions that have to be followed, however archaic they may be, however old the language used, and the carrying of the Queen’s coffin by road to Edinburgh. And there is a lot, lot more to come. How much less enriched our lives would be without it. As others have said the whole World is following this being played out, with many countries dedicating hours of TV programming to events unfolding here. She wasn’t just our Queen, she was THE Queen.

And I was particularly pleased to have seen and heard the various reactions to the appearances of King Charles III and His Consort, Camilla. After the death of Diana a lot of blame was put at the door of both Charles and Camilla, rightly or wrongly, and I thought that when he became King he wouldn’t be very popular and that this in turn could have led to either a watering down of the Monarchy or its demise entirely. Early signs are my fears were unfounded. I now actually think the Monarchy could emerge from this stronger and more popular than it was previously.

One of the many, many things I've learned from BBC radio over the last few days is that stamps would normally be replaced, but the new king has specifically asked the Royal Mail not to replace any they've already had printed. So we'll still be getting stamps with the Queen's head for quite a while.

Also the small detail of having the last seven prime ministers and a fair few others stood about two feet away watching for every move!
