Peter Varney asking for big crowd for Brighton match (Potential Buyers?)
Comments

Nobody in their right mind would put money into the club and leave TS with ANY kind of controlling interest. Perhaps let him retain a small stake that would mean if the club progress he can get his losses back, but not a chance anyone sane would allow this shite to continue using their money6
-
Hopefully serious buyers to reunite the ground and training ground. If you wanted to buy Charlton it's the most logical way as when it goes tits up you still have the assets to retain some value1
-
One thing is certain, Varney mentioned the Brighton game for a bloody good reason. That reason surely is connected to interested parties attending the match.cafcfan1990 said:
He first mentioned Brighton a couple of weeks ago, things could have changed by then and/or to show the new owners the potential?Scoham said:Why would Varney push for fans to go to the Brighton game if a takeover is done other than EFL approval?
Other than that I know f*** all about other details and can only sit back and watch events unfold.
I'm off to the gym.1 -
I'm not even slightly concerned that we end with sensible owners who have some sort of coherant strategy.hoof_it_up_to_benty said:My main concern is we end up with sensible owners who have some sort of coherent strategy.
Not good enough to be flirting with relegation to L2.
I thought that is what we all wanted?0 -

If Barclay involved we will be out the valley in 18 months ..ShootersHillGuru said:Are we convinced it’s not Barclay ? I think I’m right in saying that he’s always remained interested but only if he could purchase the football club along with the freeholds ? Now it seems Duchatelet is willing to sell The Valley and Sparrows albeit through his son doing the negotiating, could it be Andrew Barclay working alongside Peter Varney again ? Would seem to me that he might be the obvious buyer ?16 -

Really disappointing if Sandgaard stays involved. We’ve needed a clean broom for a long time and I had hoped the next owner would see this happen.1

With our luck it’ll be Trigger’s broom3

Strange remembering the Sandgaard collision and arguments with ESI in the 2020 summer.
Basically just a c*nt arguing and finalising a deal with a load wankers followed by discussing potential ground ownership with a complete prick.
It does need a clean slate where both sandgaard and Roland do what is necessary, just sell up and completely dissappear.
Allow the club to grow back.
Plant the seed for new growth

I’ve seen some grim times [and some great ones too under Curbs] . Not least when we had to suffer Selhurst all those years back.
My cynicism is goes back to the time when Parker was sold and Curbs not supported - leaving Dowie to come in, from which time our long decline started.
We deserve better than what this clown is serving up and I can see us sinking further.
I will not support this club until the ownership is sorted and that means RD/TS both gone and hopefully a sensible owner who will build the club up again.
Div 2 or worse looms unless the club is sold soon.

Why would we leave the Valley - are you suggesting RD will not sell it.RonnieMoore said:

I think the implication is that a Barclay ownership would result in the football club relocating away from The Valley. Not sure why @RonnieMoore would assume that. Personally I think it extremely unlikely because of the associated problems with developing The Valley site for housing. Explained better than me by Airman BrownBigDiddy said:

To be clear, the addicks will always be my team, but under this owner, i will stay away.
And I do not agree that my support should ever be unconditional.
45 years of support is more than a sign of my commitment to this club, but enough is enough.2 -

The Valley has restrictions, imposed by the council, so it will have no commercial value to a developer.

As long as you're not punishing yourself by protesting in that manner. I wouldn't let TS stop me doing something if I really wanted to do it. I get it's a personal choice you've made for a valid reason and respect you for making your stand though.BigDiddy said:

What I struggle with is when supporters stay away because the football's crap. I don't go now, but we were poor when I first started going and I'd go through thin and thin. It made the good times, few though there have been, all the more special I realize times change and that the reason the football is crap comes from the leadership, or lack of it, at the top, but it's my team. I"m not following anyone else!3 -
