I'm not saying it could be foreseen, but these new regs have turned into an own goal for the sport. So many fans were re-enthused by the Hamilton/Verstappen battle but the regs have just hit a huge reset button and now Red Bull are the new Mercedes. Much as I loathe them, you can't hold it against Red Bull that they did a better job than anyone else, but hopefully the others find a way to close the gap soon. This season is already a write off though and Perez is not going to offer Max the same level of challenge that Rosberg managed to take to Lewis.
The two bits of sport I can just about find time to "enjoy" most weeks are Charlton and F1, but they've both been pretty lacklustre recently, which is probably why I find myself getting onto the NHL play-offs a bit more.
The question is how long will casual fans and new fans continue to watch before they get bored of seeing RB winning every race and watching 1-2 processions.0 -

Bit of a rumour going round suggesting that Danny Ric might replace de Vries @ AlphaTauri.

De vries has been rubbish so far. I'm surprised Red bull wanted him surely some younger drivers would have been a better choice0

Wouldn't surprise me. De Vries was a bit of a panic move when they couldn't get Herta a Superlicence and Lawson underperformed in F2. Danny Ric until the end of the season and then Lawson in for 2024 allowing him to do Super Formula still would make sense1 -
I know you shouldn't read too much into what is presented on Drive to Survive as it's clearly editted to sensationalize, but De Vries came across as a bit of a knob in the last series, I thought. I'm glad Yuki is schooling him a bit this year.0

What the sport used to have happen was unreliability. That meant that the best car could be beaten and increased interest even when there was a clear best car. I think Alan Jones won the World Championship for Williams by only winning one race.
There was always a risk of one team dominating after the rule changes. It is more likely to happen even though the intention was the opposite. Before the changes, Red Bull and Mercedes were closely matched and Ferrari was not too far away. Of course the changes stemmed from a long period of Mercedes dominance but it is ironic that the changes came in when that was being challenged and created a new period of dominance albeit by another team.1 -
Wasnt it Keke Rosberg?0
-
The unreliability element was killed off when these shocking new engines came in. V10s and v8s were pushed to the absolute limit and just blew from time to time. Want that era back.1

Can I just say in my experience of going to races in the last few years compared to when I went in the early to mid 2010s that almost of the toxic behaviour I’ve seen has been Dutch fans, make of that what you will
edit: ( I have nothing per say against max2 -

Catching some Xtreme E up in Scotland today. Good fun but with random off grid circuits and on board cameras it’s really geared for TV rather than live spectating.0

Marko has said that de Vries basically has three races to turn his form around.
They've had a sit down, and he's said in Football terms, Nyck has been given a Yellow Card but not a Red... Yet
He's a gonner0 -
Rumours mick may be in for sargaent. Great if true.0
-
Also I wonder if he's on this forum. I was at the abu Dhabi gp in 2018 at the guns and Roses concert. I met a bloke who was a red and had cafc tattooed on his gum. He was with his Millwall mate who ran a pub somewhere.0

Be good to see Mick getting another opportunity as thought he was hard done by @ Haas slightly2 - Sponsored links:

Lots of flooding at Imola, looking at the pictures I'm not sure how they can hold an event1
-
Based on past wet races, they probably wont... Suzuka and Spa have been a farce in recent years alone
Outside the Red Bull Hotel...

Can see this being called off this afternoon. Just doesn't seem like it's going to be safe to run1
-
Not sure how true, but seeing rumours on twitter suggesting it'll be a slimmed down format potentially behind closed doors.
So... Saturday would be FP1 and FP2 | Sunday would be Quali and Race
Guess the Formula 3 and Formula 2 would be cancelled though0 -
Behind closed doors is probably the direction they are going to go. Reminds me when we were turned away from qualifying at Silverstone in 2012 as the car park was flooded.0

Yeah sensible decision for once... Done nice and early too
Seen some suggest that it could be held the weekend after Spa, but that'll be during the Summer Break0
