Whoever the new manager is, I’m not expecting miracles. We need a major reboot at the club from top to bottom. Even with our best players fit and playing each week we’re barely top six material as it stands. Recruit three starters tomorrow and I might change my mind, but can’t see that happening.Still, fingers crossed eh. Same procedure as every year James.11

At the moment winning a game would feel like a miracle. What I don’t want from any more managers is all the PR nonsense, pub with the fans, trip the museum (although it’s fantastic), and all the other gaining a deep appreciation of the club and its fans nonsense. It’s been done time and time again by failed managers and it’s too easy. Just get the best out of the players.7

Chris Powell looking a cert if he wants it. All depends on how much, initially only being offered it on an interim basis has put him off.
👀👀If you want to slag the bloke off at least be brave enough to do it directly to him, after all, you are obviously on that site.2 -

Mentioned to me today that he’d been chatting to a Charlton player (I won’t mention names), this player said he was not surprised Holden got sacked, supposedly there was no structure to the training, players got away with things and Holden really lost control, preferring to be one of the lads.
I have no reason to doubt anything my colleague told me, and it also explains why our players look spent after 70 minutes!Oh and he mentioned that Chuks has had another setback!!
Methven or Scott (can't find the quote online but stand by it): "Great on the grass, the players love him"
Bristol City Fans: "Out of his depth"

Good lord, it's likely to be Danny Cowley apparently. This is one episode of Reams Says I'm desperately hoping isn't true.4
-
Cowley is the market favourite at 3/10
-
Cowley would be hugely uninspiring. Down naff-all since leaving Lincoln.4

Maybe it is a bit of a PR stunt, but let's see.
For the record, Powell certainly wouldn't be my first choice, lovely guy, and did an amazing job for us, but I think he is better suited to a coaching role, like he has been with England and Spurs.. His spells at Huddersfield and Southend wasn't the best! And I am not sure this type of ownership model will work for him, and I wouldn't want to see him go through the mill, as have to much respect for him!13 -

The amount of draws is staggering though, makes me wonder if it's a playstyle issue or player quality issue. It's not like Huddersfield or Portsmouth have squads overflowing with quality and they were pivotal in Lincoln's growth as a club, could argue thet wouldn't be where they are now without him.
Out of all the realistic options this seems the most sound to me if we aren't including ex Charlton managers..1 -

The fact we’ve had a game called off, also gives us more time.
The question for me is, will we be happy with the replacement?16 -

Record: W7 D10 L5I thought they had the full season there but that’s incorrect, they came in after six games & the team they took on had one point from a possible eighteen.I remember they stuffed us up at their place 4-0 as well… depressing afternoon that was. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/51547899
The conclusion I did come to after summarising their last four years is that it’s probably the right fit for where we are as a club right now, as depressing as that will be for some to hear.
Let’s hope, if it is the Cowley brothers, it all clicks for them and for us and they get the League One promotion that they couldn’t manage at Portsmouth.2 -
If the Cowleys are appointed, I won’t be going again this season.18

If the SMT want a manager with league one promotions on their cv, I don’t think the Cowleys have done that before?
Makes no sense, Lincoln success aside, I’m given the impression they promise much, and deliver little.6 -
Crowley’s mic’d up, taking training at HTFC.
Quite old school - and very Alan Partridge:

Always thought Danny Cowley came across well when seeing him interviewed at Pompey etc.
He is the type of personality that would work well with Andy Scott (which is obviously key) & the fact he comes as a pair with his brother is also useful to us bearing in mind a lot of our coaches have (rightly) left.
I personally think he would be a decent fit. Much prefer the Cowley’s option to journeyman Appleton.7 - Sponsored links:

The actual football is fairly dour and basic but effective.1 -
Expect CBT would be happy too….he tends to always play a blinder against Portsmouth so will be the first name on the team sheet (& not at wing back hopefully!)0
-
So we are still going with they sacked Holden and staff without knowing who replaces them?
Im not buying that.1 -

I do not believe that powell is in the running, or bowyer. We will end up with Appleton or Johnson in my opinion but you do come across as very rude and abrupt sometimes9 -

Really doesn’t matter who the next manager is because if we don’t upgrade the team between now and tomorrow night it will just be the same shite.6

It's got to the point now that I just don’t trust our new owners.
Normally when we are going to sign a new manager I get quite excited as to who it might be.
Not this time though as it doesn't matter who he is as he won't be backed sufficiently to see us promoted and will probably be gone come the end of the season.23 -

The guy comes across very rude and high and mighty in the majority of his posts and has been called out on it before. But as other posters on here have also suggested, there is a lick Rick rim culture on here!
what is wrong with "I trust my sources who are telling me different, I'm sure you trust yours, let's see how this pans out!
and I'm also making a statement. Is that not allowed because I haven't got a band of arse lickers following me on here?5 -

That bit didn't need adding. I am confident people are simply sharing what they're being told. I find it interesting either way but then I have no agenda to push.4
