London Overground - new line names revealed.

The Windrush line doesn't even stop in Brixton, as there are no platforms for it.
It does stop in Shoreditch and Whitechapel though, areas with a strong Jewish history, so maybe that could have been honoured.
Or maybe it could have been named the Brunel line after the brilliant engineers who built the tunnel under the Thames it uses.5 -

The Liberty Line... Sounds like it would be better off being in New York
Liberty line is the only one I really have issue with because as you say it could be absolutely anywhere even with the explanation from TfL0 -
I'm confused ?
They say that these new names are for the "overground"....I take it they mean the overground part of the underground...yes ?
I'm also assuming that there are no breaks in the line/service and the lines run continuously into the "underground" as before....yes ?
If so....then why the need for change ? I know..... because of inclusivity, diversity and to be shown to be doing something "modern" and "out there". In reality its a total waste of £6m. The lines aren't changing and ultimately will just confuse more people that are "affected" by Windrush etc .

Well done Sadiq Khan, best Mayor since Livingstone. If the people don’t like you they have a chance to vote you out in May (if they can abide by the restrictive Tory voter ID rules).7

i care about the money wasted on this which could have been invested in improving the rail network and actually making it run regularly and on time.

The thing with Sadiq Khan and the London Mayorship is that he could be there for decades given the bunch of complete no hopers that usually line up against him at election time .. God Help London3

Brunel line would be better IMO but he already (deservingly) has a museum and university named after him in London and other prestigious buildings around the country like a shopping centre in Swindon. Like Charlton can't name everything after Sam Bartram, Brunell can't claim all of the glory.0 -

Someone pontificated "celebrates a thousand years of Londons history'", What a load of bollocks! Celebrates a load of politicians salivating over a boat turning up in the 1950's and a load of Doris' chaining themselves to railings... History? Of course, but 1000 years gives you a few more options. Smacks of playing to the crowd.
Fill yer boots ladies, gents and gender neutrals.

Plenty of illiterate people voted for Brexit despite the billions and billions of damage it has inflicted on the UK economy and was always predicted to inflict. Over £100bn and counting so far (30bn for London alone) which massively reduces government revenue, which could have paid for all your thousands of doctors and teachers.
6.3m as a one off cost to TfL is nothing worth moaning about.

Wait for the shitstorm next year when he spends £200m rebranding it all under the new TFL banner 'Transgender for London'14

I'm struggling with the social illiteracy though? Care to expand on that?0
