We want grace and favour Premier League money that they have a moral obligation to pay out to sustain the football pyramid something something…the conversation is about something, or nothing, or which point in between.
I imagine clubs outside the Premier League want money and (some) clubs in the Premier League say ‘why should we give away any of our money?’.

Can someone confirm the story here, my memory is a bit hazy... Did the government tell the Premier League clubs to sort a deal themselves or else the regulator would come in and do it, and they may not like the deal the regulator came up with?3

The regulator will procrastinate and prevaricate for probably years. Regulators can’t or won’t even stop water companies from poisoning our rivers, lakes and seas. It's so funny that when the Super League information came out Parish was the first one to jump onto Sky Sports to complain that teams were about to be given a raw deal and how unfair it was. He talked a big game about the 'gilded elite' needing to be controlled and then recently he had a tantrum about the new Champions League format. He said 'while...there’s nobody over the top of it to govern that, to regulate it, then we’re in trouble, and we seem to be sleepwalking into it while Mr Ceferin picks all our pockets frankly' and complained about them 'pulling the drawbridge up'. He's not wrong about any of that, but he makes himself out to be a man fighting for the future of the FL pyramid when really he's just pissed off that bigger teams are getting more money than Palace, and the first chance he gets to do the same to the teams below him he'll do it in a second. What a prick, at least the Super League teams are honest about their greed.20

You are probably right but this is a far simpler thing to decide than water regulation I would expect. The PL clubs have a figure of £900M yet can't agree. A regulator just adds 50% to that number as a punishment and it is done very quickly.
I suspect the reality in all of this is that ultimately the EFL will get a far watered down amount and just like EPPP before there will be a huge load of strings attached which all favour the PL (feeder clubs...?).
The question when that happens is how many of the new USA owners bought into the EFL expecting a huge wedge coming their way and when it doesn't how many simply walk away leaving EFL clubs screwed.0 -

Rodwell, Elliott and the other bloke addressed certain things when answering fans questions (re' Scott / Appleton / shit signings etc etc) in the interview with Charlotte. How much credence you give what they've said is another matter, but they did do that. Actually I don’t find it odd at all. It’s what people do isn’t it. When things are going wrong they tend to keep their heads down. As you say he has no real authority so I doubt he could have added anything to the debate about our flirtation with relegation. On this particular topic even as a small shareholder he has a dog in the fight and his opinion is as valid as anyone’s.
