Fifty five pounds to pay for 60 plus people that I dont know to have a meal. I dont understand it.
You do realise this is the worst ever squad in our history and you want to brown nose around them. They should be treating the fans to dinner. They can afford it. I hope no one demeans themselves by having selfies or asking for autographs. You can eat cheaper with better food and surroundings up the shard or any number of London restaurants. More money than sense comes to mind. Good luck to anyone that is seated next to Taylor or Bakinson. Polite, crawling conversation . No thanks. The one question I would put to a player is, have you no shame for the season you have delivered and now have the audacity to ponce meals off fans? Hope everyone has a thoroughly miserable evening. You all deserve each other.fair play - that's quite a decent summary -i'd find it embarrassing talking to any of our squad about this season - an absolute shower of shit from start to finish

I hope everyone who went had an enjoyable time BUT I do to a certain degree agree with @DaisyEdwards in that I couldn’t contemplate going when we have just suffered the worst season in 98 years and then to boot I’d have to pay £55 so that players who earn thousands a week and are the reason for this awful season can have a nosh up.
As said each to their own but not for me.8 -
They complained it was 36 quid in 2016

Sadly my thoughts exactly, but each to their own, I wouldn’t be able to keep my trap shut4

Congratulations to Alfie May as it was only ever going to be him, he’s been the main difference in us being a League One team next season and not a League Two one.
Dobson in second is also the logical thing. Mr Consistent and it’s a shame that he won’t be here next season.
But our fan base are either complete banter brigade or I worry about those who voted because Thomas in third is a complete joke. I won’t say any more on that one.
Third should have been CBT, but nope, can’t have a player no longer here come in third place ahead of those who are.
Either way, I hope we see lots of May next season, I wish we would see Dobson, but we won’t, and I never want to see Thomas again.15 -
I think Thomas coming third with a probable 1% of vote proves there wasn’t in reality a player outside of the top 2 remotely of consideration.
Weird, shit season21 -
Thomas third... This really has been a shocking season.5

Alfie was obvious but the most deserved award went to Jade8

Thomas third is wild.
That said, just thought about who else should have got it and no one came to mind bar Kanu.3 -
Kanu would probably be my pick for third place
Came back into the squad a different player under Jones and was often given game time ahead of May what with his work rate, certainly came from nowhere to be a deservedly starting
Voting may not have been at the right time for him though8 -

I think Small was probably the next best after the top 2, but then he didn’t play the whole season. If you look at players who played the whole season it’s probably between Thomas and Hector4
-
With the top two being so far ahead of the rest in the voting, I would imagine Thomas has a large family and their votes were enough to carry him into third place5
-
Should be a recount.0
-
Thomas could have had a vote count of 2 and come third. (I am assuming there are always some jokers who will have put one vote for Charlie Kirk or James Abankwah)2
-
Thanks for the updates @sam3110. I think @AFKABartram is right, except I reckon it was probably 1% of the vote combined for all the players other than May and Dobson.

Sat next to TT tonight. Very decent, intelligent chap. Human being, like the rest of us. With feelings. Not sure if he reads CL, we were too busy chatting about football in general, he was very interested about bits of Charlton history he didn't know and obviously very pleased with getting on the podium for POTY. Food was a vast improvement on last year, not sure it was worth 55 quid, to be honest, but we had a very enjoyable night, and there is a lot of positivity about the place. Only time will tell, of course. I don't think NJ does not rate May, he isn't a fucking idiot, but from what was said, I do believe they don't always agree with each other. Webbo, Scotty and Holland really do love the club.34

Actually, you could say 100%, given who we support.3 -

Seems a very well intentioned doer. Good luck to her. These awards are always very subjective imo.10 -

I voted for Thomas because it was obvious Alfie would, deservedly, win by a mile.
Glad others saw TT's value to the squad.
Hope everyone had a good night.
On the £55, you're not paying that for the meal alone but to attend an event.
Not my sort of thing but clearly lots of people do enjoy these nights so long may they continue.
Well done to @killerjerrylee and everyone else involved in the organisation, not an easy task and congrats to all the winners.19 -
