Its like watching men against boys,

Santos and Williams looking good in midfield. Hendon are dominant in the air and that may tell second half. Two good saves by Molyneux.1 -

If we don't give them free kicks or corners they won't score.
When we get it down and play we have the beating of them but get sucked into too much stuff in the air.

Pretty slick first half, classy finish by Casey and one slightly fortunate one. Full backs, Okwumo and Bower played quite well ovarell. Like Okwumo's energy and did well against Hendon's tricky winger.
Second half Hendon the better side and at least deserved the one goal they got. Their number 11 was the best player on the pitch imo. Understandably much more physical than our boys so a good test for us.
Will be be shocked if Molyneux gets anywhere near the first team, very poor second half.
Slightly boring response but no one particularly stood out. Maybe Bakrin who looked comfortable. Will be interested to see how Casey develops, natural finisher is hard to come by and no doubt he is that, but wasn't that impressed with his ovarell game. Still 38 goals for the season is insane, and if he improves like Kanu has this season we could have a real player on our hands.8 -

A great win for the lads, back to back London cups isn't to be sniffed at.
Looking at last year's winning team, it included Kanu, Anderson, Asimwe and Mitchell, all still under 21, which shows how our players in recent years have got fast tracked to first team football.5 -

We (Hendon) didn't defend well enough 1st half and muffed chances early enough in 2nd half. The bloke who scored with his first touch is a centre-back who was chucked on up front a la Phil Chapple.
Liked the Charlton No.6 and Casey looked sharp. The rest were ok but nothing more. The keeper was better 1st half than 2nd, when he struggled with bodies around him. He was a good sport though and enjoyed the banter with those behind the goal.
Nice enough end to the season.6 -

I was at a game at Sparrows Lane once and had a lengthy quite nice chat with the young agent of Kurtis Cumberbatch and a player called Bobson Bowling. Both being released by Watford at the time. Listening to the agent and his irrepressible enthusiasm you’d have thought both players were destined to be World Cup winners.
The agent was David Rosenthal, son of the rather memorable Ronnie Rosenthal, and we had a good chat about his dad, who scored a great hat trick on his Liverpool debut against us at Selhurst Park.2 -
Another enjoyable & successful evening watching our great U21s tonight after a somewhat torrid journey from E Sussex.
Steve Avory helped us find a space in the small car park at the Ground so things started looking up...then we met the Bromley Addicks' heavies ...
Lots of fellow Addicks in the Stand which was great to see & we were treated for the 2nd year running to a winning Cup performance with all our lads playing their part.
Brains overcame brawn is maybe the best way to describe the action.
There was a weird incident a few minutes before the additional time was indicated when Hendon tried to bring on a late sub. The match was paused for 2-3 minutes whilst officials, Hendon players, their manager who had already lost the plot by then and several supporters close to the action/inaction debated the issue. Eventually said player was allowed onto the pitch- a Peter Crouch like guy & obviously a last gasp effort to out jump the opposition and bring his team level.
After the match, we were told that there had been an issue with said sub's leg wear ( black "tights" under his shorts) as he was not prepared to "show his legs/what was under his tights"! Why he was asked to do so is unclear but allegedly he refused , saying his religion would not allow him to do so. Others in the vicinity refuted this, as, Muslims themselves, they had never heard of such a "rule". Make of that what you will.
Anyway, a triumphal & far better journey home for the Fanackapans and a Cup for the Boardroom to boot. What's not to like !
Lord Irving was left pondering whether 3 consecutive victories in the LSC would ensure that the winners retain the Cup for good....He's already making plans where to proudly display it in our much envied Museum !
