They didn't, it's an official trophy. Championship, League 1, and League 2 second place get a trophy too.

Morecambe seem in real trouble at the moment.

Indeed the last couple of years has seen the natural order returning, with FGR and Sutton relegated, Morecambe and Fleetwood sliding and the likes of Stockport, Wrexham and Chesterfield all returning to the EFL.

Richie Wellens has just signed a new Long Term deal @ Leyton Orient.

Quite funny actually, as one of the parents at my Son's school supports them, and was saying he was heavily linked to the Barnsley job on Monday

I imagine that rumour got him a nice pay rise at Orient!

By signing a contract can strengthen the hand of selling club and manager, all in the name of money.

They’ve now confirmed Moyes is going at the end of the season.
Awful the way they’ve treated him.
Hope they sink like a stone.

Lopetegui will last about 18 months. Promising first half of next season, lots of talk about "the West Ham way" and other deluded nonsense, tailing off in in the second half and finishing roughly the same position as this season. Second season starts averagely and only gets worse. Lopetegui sacked just before the January transfer window with them just above the relegation zone. Tough decision for the board about whether to go cap in hand to Moyes or Allardyce, or go for Tony Pulis to get them out of trouble. How many times do they have to go through this predictable cycle before they realise that football's changed and they can't have the style of football they want and be competitive with their current budget?! They're like an economy version of Spurs fans.

18 months feels slightly optimistic for Lopertegui to last given his spell at Wolves. Find it a bit of an odd appointment unless Sullivan has offered him significant funds, which seemed to be the issue at Wolves.

I like some of West Hams side but they do seem to be incredibly wasteful in the transfer market , especially on strikers.

West Ham United used to be an OK club with a distinctive identity and location.
Now they are a joke in a stolen stadium with an extremely nasty board member who governs us via the House of Lords.
And yes, their acquisition of the Olympic/Taxpayers stadium is something political.

They will finish lower in the league than last season, have won just 3 times in 2024, they've conceded 70 goals which is more than any side outside the bottom 3, went out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle, and Europe was probably his last chance to salvage something but they got knocked out (admittedly to a very good side).

On the face of it, i don't think he can have too many complaints at losing his job, although it obviously would've been a lot better if they'd announced it once the season ended.

Saw this last night... If only Utd were this crap when we were last in the PL - we could have certainly scraped 4/6 extra points off of them.

Yep. Also currently lost our last 11 games against them. The longest losing run against one team in our history.

I saw us beat Man Ure 1-0 at Old Trafford (Mark Stuart), and 2-0 at Sell-Out Park (Paul Williams). Which was the third game, Seth?

Wasn’t it at Sell-Out with a Mark Reid penalty?

Can’t stand West Ham. From board to fans, the most undeservedly entitled bunch there is.

    Somehow bulletproof from criticism too.

I wasn't at the game but had a good chat with a delighted Steve Gritt late that night in Bibas in Bromley. Well I think that's what it was but perhaps drink that night and the almost 40 years that have elapsed since that happened has somewhat exaggerated the conversation!

Cos they won the World Cup innit 🙄

They've been advertising and interviewing managers right under Moyes nose. What do you expect him or the team to do about that?
They managed to have a good season when the stadium was empty. What does that tell you about their fans?
    Awful business.

Literally every club does that. That's football. You think we weren't talking to NJ before Appleton was sacked?
