There's also the sea! Was in Nice last month and the International Ironman competition was on for one splendid day. No problems swimming in the Med, then cycling up into the mountains and back for a run along the Promenade Des Anglais. The prospect of that is an absolute disgrace. Can't hang a Gold medal for triathlon around the neck of anyone who hasn't competed in one. The athletes have trained for years to compete in a triathlon and it will disadvantage the strong swimmers, making a mockery of the outcome. Can't imagine what the athletes must think. I don't get why Vaires-sur-Marne were the rowing and white water is, isn't the back up swim location, it's about 30KM into central Paris from there, so you could have got the bike done pretty much that way1
