In the pole vault was there a minimum standard to go straight through to finals?
Like in discus if you got 66m went straight to the final

I think 4.55 was 100% the correct height for Molly, it's probably where she starts in training and she makes that 99 times out of 100. on any other day she turns up, has 1 attempt packs up and is back to the village

as it happens something was very wrong today and the height was probably pretty irrelevant; that 3rd attempt was the worst I've ever seen from her, it was the timing that was off, not the height. sometimes in sport shit just happens and this was one of those times

That was the point I was trying to make.
    Cheers Rina.

My first look at Kayak cross. It needs Stuart Hall and Eddie Waring on commentary. Reminiscent of it's a knockout. Looks like Brazil played their Joker there to relegate ours

The kayak cross is absolutely mental isn't it?

Makes me think that they should introduce an obstacle race into the Olympics

Kayak Cross is absolutely superb entertainment!

There was a proposal for obstacle racing to be a new element of the Modern Pentathlon after the horse debacle at the Tokyo games but not sure if that's happening

Believe the LA28 plan is to put the Athletics first and the swimming in the second week, to ensure the USA lead the medal table for the whole Olympics

The kayak cross women, just absolutely battering into eachother and the gates, the French girl just torpedoed into the Brazilian, slapped the gate out of the way and drove into the final

Do we win a medal for most flags being flown upside down?
Which other countries would be medal hopes?

Loving the kayak cross. Shame one of the British girls got disqualified for doing her roll a touch late. Some great battles going round the upstream gates.
  • Kayak Cross finals in a few minutes - get the TV on, it's mental and we've a great chance of two medals across the two finals.

Not actually sure how it's even a sport, it's like watching a gameshow.
