Have said it for years, we 'lose' more money than we make with the food and drink in the kiosks.
The owners never improve things.0 -

I stand corrected. £7.40 for a plastic cup of Peroni is absolutely insane.5

Apparently Bristol Rovers have something similar for home fans , order in advance , scan your app at half time and pick up your pints. Works really well apparently.0

Some clubs sell plastic bottles of beer, it's much quicker1
-
It's hardly the amber nectar once it's poured out anyway.
Don't understand why they don't just get cans and let you pour them out yourself.2 -
Many years ago(we were in the prem) I had just finished my MBA. I tried to suggest ways to Steve Sutherland to maximise the beer sales. Pre poured beer. People dispensing beer from backpacks like they do in the o2. He shot me down with health and safety issues. Still don’t know why everyone else can do it but us!!!5

So we have a 12.30pm kick off therefore many people were in the fans bar just after 10.0am. Perfect opportunity to serve loads of breakfast sausage/ bacon rolls - and OK chips and the ever dependable pies. What fans surely don't want is a main course better suited for lunchtime. Just out of curiosity, did anyone buy this?5

I still can’t get over a pint of Peroni in a plastic cup costing £7.40 at a third division football stadium. Absolute madness.13

Ps yeah I know you should be able to not need food or a drink at footy but it's a 9 + hour day out.0 - Sponsored links:

The staff should be properly paid because the prices people pay are very high.
I have heard capitalists say that a market finds its own level, if that is true then something has to happen. Exploiting the workforce in order to squeeze a marginal profit whilst alienating customers seems to be a poor version of capitalism…unless you have a monopoly or a captive market.I doubt any government will materially change that rate.In this case I think really the issue is training / familiarity and that can only be down to the third party outsourced provider.Supply and demand will ultimately apply and mean custom is limited but practically I think it’s just another example of how poor a choice food and drink is inside football grounds and indeed any comparable venue. I make you right in your observation that chips from the local chip shop are better value.
Anyone who falls for the Peroni baloney deserves to pay £7.40 a pint...

It’s a job every other week and only for a few hours. Those staff are always going to flip to alternate jobs if opportunities arise.6 -

A decent hourly rate for six or seven hours, 36 times a year would pay for a good holiday in the off season...0 -
Meanwhile down the M4 at Swindon Town
We’ll win games but you may shit yourself if you eat with us again!

Any reason to state the obvious 2 pint price, seeing as no reductions from just buying the 1 pint…🤔2

Maybe the two pint price is to help people who struggle with sums.
I automatically know because of my age and education that if you hand over £1 for something costing 80p the change is 20p.
Indeed I also know in old money that if you hand over £1 for something costing 7s11d you get 12s1d change.
Most of my generation can do that kind of thing in their head. Now people can’t calculate the change from £1 for an 80p purchase without a machine.9 -
