I do wonder though if any manager regarded as 'big enough' for the Man U job is prepared to take on and sort out the current mess ..
However, Man U have their moments, e.g. FA Cup final last year, but moments are not good enough when days and months are what is needed3 -

Then they won and it became awkward, but instead of looking back at how the previous 2 league seasons went, the fact they'd slumped to 8th, and how they somehow still have no noticeable style of play after 2 years they let a one off win in the cup final rule their heads and kept him.3 -

More wins than anyone else other than Man City means fuck all if you're losing almost all the other games0 -
not wins, meant won more silverware than anyone else0

Would you rather be United who despite their shortcomings in the league and regular hammerings by both City and Liverpool, have won 2 trophies in 2 seasons.
Or Arsenal who are widely praised for their football and challenging City in the last 2 years but have won nothing.2 -
I think you'd rather be an Arsenal fan at the moment, the side is younger, playing better and all in a more modern stadium under a younger, more progressive head coach.
Sides this big are expected to win a domestic cup every couple of years, it's nothing new to them (unlike someone like Newcastle or Aston Villa winning it as they haven't as often in recent history)
The biggest things are the domestic league and the Champions League, they've been nowhere near either for a while, at least as an Arsenal fan you've believed you might actually win the league instead of finishing 8th and scraping into a lesser European competition through a cup win0 -

In years to come United fans will look back fondly at the day they beat City to win the cup, but surely no Arsenal fan looks back and says 'remember when we challenged City'.1 -

One good game in the final shouldn't have saved a whole season for him - it should have rang alarm bells that he couldn't get them playing anywhere near as effectively the rest of the season.
I think the fact that not many other obvious choices (Tuchel or Pochettino were the obvious ones I guess) were out of work saved him but I don't think he'll last much longer.
I'd worry if I was a United fan that they'll try to go back in for Southgate though!

I doubt Utd would touch Southgate. I doubt any club in the top half of the PL would touch Southgate tbh.

You'd think not but he was linked a lot in the spring, sometimes no smoke without fire etc.0

Surely if they do sack ETH, their next manager is nailed on to be Van Nistelrooy given he's a fan favourite and already on the payroll.0

Chelsea bought a teenage winger last year for 13m. Didn't play a game for them. Loaned him to Strasbourg, 24 games, 0 goals. Just sold him to Saudi for 19m!0

Newcastle squad defender Jamal Lewis going on loan to Sao Paulo has to be one of the weirdest transfers of the summer.3 -
Leicester have found a loophole for PSR and won't be deducted any points. If I understand it correctly, even though they went beyond the allowed spending, as they were in the championship when the PL charged them, they cannot be charged.1

They were relegate at the end of May, so lost there Premiership share at that point. The accounts we submitted in June when they were a Championship Club, so not subject to the Prem rules at that point.
As a relegated team they are allowed losses of £83 million over 3 years which would include the accounts submitted in June as mentioned above.
Now it would look they would breech Championship spending restrictions, but of Course when promoted at the end of the season they are no longer Subject EFL rules and so will avoid action from them.0 -
Just get rid of FFP. It only serves to help the big clubs.1
