    Draper wins 6-3 6-1 6-2. Pretty comprehensive.

His first major quarter final on Wednesday! Against Alex de Minaur or Jordan Thompson.
  • Really good win from Draper, first Grand Slam quarter final!
  • Very impressive. Playing someone he should beat, and doing it comprehensively.
  • To get to the QFs without dropping a set is superb work especially with that added benefit of not being stretched to the limit physically

It felt like a bit of a banana skin, before today Machac had a 3-0 head-to-head record against Draper and he (Machac) is inside the top 40. So even better for JD to bury that in convincing style.
  • The crowd getting to Badosa, who throws away a 5-1 second set lead to lose 2&5.

Shades of Dart in the final couple of games with Badosa in tears. The crowd were only partisan for her New York born opponent, Navarro. I  thought she was better than that.

So we’re getting an all-American semi final between Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe.

Guaranteed a first U.S. man in a U.S. Open final since Roddick in 2006.

Good luck to Jack Draper against Mr. Boulter later.

    Tough match for him though.

Neither player has reached the SF of a Grand Slam before.

Draper v de Minaur tomorrow at ~6:30 ish U.K. time, second on Arthur Ashe.

This is a hard match to call, but Jack Draper has taken advantage so far when his side of the draw opened up when Alcaraz went out in Round 2.
Now with this Quarter final he plays the current world number 8, Alex De Minaur who has never got past the QF of a slam in 4 attempts. Twice at the US slam.
Very unlucky at Wimbledon when he had to pull out of his QF match after being injured on the penultimate point in the match before so couldn't play Djokovic.

50/50 and a step up for Jack to reach the Semi final.
  • First player Draper will have played this tournament with a higher ranking  very tough test.

Fingers crossed he can hit the ground running in the first set.

Can't see past the winner of the Sinner/Medvedev QF tomorrow going on to win the whole thing though.

If it's Sinner, feels like a very 'changing of the guard' year - no slams for Djokovic (although the gold in Paris was impressive), and two each for Alcaraz and Sinner.

Muchova defeats Haddad Maia on Arthur Ashe.

Draper v de Minaur up next
  • Rumours de Minaur has an injury. Only light serving in practice. Perhaps Katie has worn him out for us. Proper Patriot.
  • flippin' eck - that recovery shot in the last point of the 5th game was good but the winner was even better!

Hopefully. Was a bit surprised the trainer went to Draper not De Minaur and then his movement seemed a bit restricted. But......am not not going to review my view of his movement and jinx him!

Draper wins 6-3 7-5 6-2. Yet to drop a set in the tournament.

First British man in the semi final here since Murray won it in 2012.

First Brit to reach the last four without dropping a set since Raducanu won it in 2021.
  • Hope the injury isn’t too bad. He’s got a genuine chance.

Thanks to me. If I hadn't added the second line he would have lost  ;)

And I didn't jinx it by saying his movement seemed to have recovered!

How much do we think De Minaur's hip problem affected him?
  • Cracking win, wasn't confident and very glad I was wrong!!
