Just watched Qualy , unbelievable lap from Gasly. Not sure what happened to the McLarens on the final run just seemed to have absolutely no pace

Got to feel for the Williams mechanics, rebuild both cars and then have another big smash in Qualy
Sainz likes an occasional shunt as well.

Colapinto was a big whack, wouldn't be surprised if he's concussed.

I'm a massive Hamilton fan but he is a mess this season, Russell on pole and he's P10

If Antonelli can get anywhere near Russell next season, it'll be a good year for him.

George's biggest problem has been consistency the last few seasons, apart from Australia he's been pretty solid.

Feels like Hamilton is just mentally checked out and counting down the days until he's a Ferrari driver. Really uncharacteristic error for him on his final run , otherwise it could have been a Mercedes lockout.

Yeah Sainz won't lessen the damage bill at Williams by much with some of his accidents.

Not even surprised by Perez not getting out of Q1 , getting beaten by Zhou in a Sauber is highly embarrassing though

Zhou really surprised me, what with briefly getting in P11

Perez though sounds like a beaten man, felt sorry for him as his radio came on, when he was being taken back into the Garage - Rightly no excuses from him, just a defeated comment which in turn isnt good to hear really - If Red Bull keep him next season, and he doesnt start well, he's just going to have his confidence shattered even more somehow... Its not healthy for him

Honestly think Red Bull just need to make the announcement and give him Qatar and Abu Dhabi as a goodbye with the pressure off and then figure out who's in what team next season

I think he is so desperate to go out on a high that he is trying too hard and over drving the car.  He is making mistakes that he normally wouldn't.
  • Looks like the 11th team will be official from next week... according to rumour at least, with Cadillac joining, but under the Andretti Group.

Looks like Michael Andretti making press statements and running around the paddocks with a petition no one but Zak Brown would sign was the main hurdle. Now the main money men have taken control with a bit more help from GM it looks like it's smooth sailing.

Bit pathetic that the whole time its been nothing but a grudge between FOM and Andretti... You'd hope that people running things would be a bit more professional

In my opinion, makes those who have been opposed the eleventh team for so long, look a bit stupid and petty

Andretti name to be quietly dropped apparently, so will be run by them in Andretti Global's new UK base, but it looks like the entry will be called something along the lines of "AG Cadillac".

Yeah, if it's literally just been the teams haven't liked the way Andretti has handled himself, then it's pettiness to the max. I fully believe they'll be a success though, they aren't chancers and have had success in pretty much every motorsports category they've entered

So much overtaking!!  Great race so far...
  • Russell has this so under control at the moment, great defending from Leclerc, and now got the luck of not having to deal with traffic like Verstappen or the Ferrari's when pitting.

This is vintage Lewis. Unbelievable drive and I wouldn't be surprised if he chases George down
  • I think Lewis will run out of time / tyres, but this has been great!
  • That was a brilliant double over take from Sergio
  • Feels like Russell has the win now, that gap is holding.

Brilliant from the Mercedes 's , must be so frustrating for them to not know what they're going to get every weekend from the car
  • How the hell didnt Sainz get a penalty for crossing the white line on entry to the pits - Surely thats the easiest slam dunk of the race?

Brilliantly controlled by Russell though, who did well to hold off Leclerc briefly at the start, and great to see a Mercedes 1-2
  • Congrats to Max, his fourth title wasn't easy... He deserves it, but dont see him getting a fifth title next season, or whilst he's at Red Bull now.
  • Mercedes when asked how on earth they won this race, let alone a 1-2

Yeah I don't think he wins it next year. Massively excited to see the battles at McLaren and Mercedes next season. Russell should handle things but I don't think we've seen a wet weather talent like Antonelli is since Lewis so I wouldn't be surprised if Antonelli bagged a couple of wins.

Still think McLaren will end up as Team Oscar , yes he's had a few shabby races and his qualifying pace isn't quite there but I'd back him in a title fight over Lando.

Just caught the 10 minute highlights, looked like a mad race where Mclaren decided not to turn up. 2025 is going to be a cracker

    Ummm, Max?

Sainz thing was strange, but I guess it all depends on what the race director counts as entering the pit lane, is the pit entry a different thing or what?

Record books may say different but he's only a 3 time world champion in my eyes.

I think the race director decided it wasn’t Sainz fault as team called him in then cancelled at the last minute…if anything team should be fined.

I don't think Piastri is at that level yet,, far too often he's 20/30 seconds behind Lando.

Next year could be very interesting if it stays like this

Congratulations to Verstappen. When you look at his four titles, this is the one that stands out, imo. 2021 he was a worthy champion for the way he drove all season (as would Hamilton have been) but it was tainted through no fault of his own. 2022 and 2023 he had such a machinery advantage and no competition from his teammate it was almost too easy (something drivers like Hamilton and Schumacher also enjoyed at times, to be fair). But this season he has just extracted the maximum from a good, but not great, car and delivered consistency that others have been unable to despite having faster cars, at times. It shows how he is the class of field right now. Fair play for that.

    Still a knob though!

Absolutely, you only have to look at Perez finishing 3rd in 2022 and 2nd in 2023 to see how good their car was, but this year it's clear it's Verstappen's own ability that has won him the title.

Hope he doesn't win it next year though, i'd quite like to hear a few of his in-race rants when things aren't going his way.

I don't really care who wins next season, I just want to see something like we've seen this season, with 4 teams genuinely vying for race wins pretty much every race. Some tracks and conditions will favour one team over the others, which is fine, but there's nothing more boring than the situation we had with Max last season when he basically just had to turn up to win. Only thing I would like to see is someone else in Perez's seat who will actually give Max at least the semblance of competition.
