He is an incredibly unlikeable little twerp. The comments post Birmingham summed him up, and the warning signs were there after his bizarre interviews at Stoke and Southampton.
    Love it Croydon :)
  • If they're going to get rid then they have to do it soon so the new manager has the January window to bring in people he wants.

No point getting rid of Jones in February and then (for example) hiring a new manager who likes to play with wide players........and he finds out that we don't have any and he's fucked until the summer.
We won’t be doing anything significant in January. A couple of loans to plug the injury gaps and that’s it. Just my view but I definitely think Jones will start next season as manager. We’ll need to replace some of the departing squad but again I don’t think they’ll be real money spent anywhere. Jones is about as stubborn and self delusional as you can get. He’ll completely believe that if he perseveres then things will come good. I think he’s probably the only one that does. I think that when the dust settles on this wasted season they’ll be questions asked and hopefully meaningful targets set by the owners but I’d be astonished if he’s not manager next season.
  • He isn't threatening to leave the club any more if the fans think they can do better. Threatening to stay more like.

Agree with this but he still needs results for that to happen. If we lose a few more games and things get really toxic then the owners will have no choice but to act

  • Jones’s credibility as a coach is now hanging by a thread. Should he ultimately fail at Charlton, I’d struggle to see him getting a gig anywhere above league two and possibly not even that. He must be a worried man deep down but he’s too barking mad to change what he’s doing. I think he’ll start next season but I reckon we’ll be having this conversation in earnest this time next year.

Feel like it's going to take a couple of transfer windows just to undo some of the work done in the last one one. We've got some players on long-term contracts who aren't good enough.

I doubt we’ll be sucked into a relegation scrap. We’ll stumble through to a disappointing mid table finish and the bullshit will fly from SMT and Jones to the owners as to why next season will be better. Don’t see any way he’ll be sacked unless I’m wrong about the relegation scrap.

I cant agree with you there mate. Our owners ( regardless of what some claim ) have and are spending large sums of money, just running the club is eyewatering. They are businessmen, investors, and they need to see progression towards a ROI. Mid table is not acceptable to investors if results dont significantly improve I think he will be gone before Xmas

Not a chance he'll be here next season imo.
Lose at Lincoln and at home to Mansfield and he won't make Xmas.

Yup this is what I expect to ultimately happen regardless of the SMT. Can't see another 2 defeats with bad performances and confusing team selections being tolerated.

This SMT are in too deep with him to sack him. Big old contract and in getting rid they show the actual owners they've failed AGAIN.

I think the owners will know only too well that they are failing.

I think the owners will know they have failed and hopefully replace them as well.
  • Jones has lost the supporters without any doubt. We all know that a couple of wins will buy him time with the owners and some supporters. But the dire performances recently make that unlikely. Jones has been able to use injuries as a partial excuse( although they have not impacted the terrible midfield). He now has Lloyd Jones, Leaburn and Kanu back, so that excuse will not last much longer.
We could slip into the relegation zone within the next 2/3 games. If that happens Jones cannot survive Xmas.
  • Hopefully they’ll act quickly and get rid asap. Remember, this is old hat for us so we’re very jaded but ‘reluctant’ about another change. But for them this is all new. I think they’ll act quickly seeing as we’re plunging down the table and the performances are dire. I hope so anyway otherwise we’re fucked.

  • We're fucked anyway.  There is no way of knowing what will happen with yet another new manager but I would bet it will be exactly the same and we will be here again next December.  I think the club is on the way out and has been for quite some time now.  Combined with the way football is going across the leagues the opportunity for a sudden boost from an unexpected direction seems to be a thing of the past.

The snipey arsey comments when we win a game and then the subsequent disappearance of the spikey cnutishness when it all goes back to shit make him look a complete bell .
I love his enthusiasm but he’s just a dinosaur in football coaching terms .
can the next shit manager arrive soon please

Sounds like 90% of the posters on here tbh.

I think lose heavy at Lincoln (which I can see happening -  3-1 to them my early prediction FYI) and that will be it.

I can’t see it. Think how long they left Appleton in place when it was obviously going one way. Like Appleton, Jones is the man they’ve picked and backed so they need it to work and will leave it as long as possible before admitting it hasn’t

I think Jones loses the rest of the fanbase with a poor defeat on Saturday, but it will take a few more for the owners to act

McGrandles hat trick where he celebrates like a mad man.

Definitely agree, he's lucky in a way that the table gives a bit of a false position given we're midtable but the teams below are a lot closer than the teams above.
  • Appleton kept blaming the injury list and saying when we had players back, we'd have a massive push - same as Jones is saying now. They came back and we were still rubbish and he was sacked. I'm sure NJ will be given the same courtesy.

Tbh if Jones thinks the current injury list is bad, he hasn't been following us in recent years
