Like many on here he was in goal when I started supporting Charlton back in the 60s.
A great keeper and a real character.
He was also a big part in my all time favourite Charlton sides.
Great times and great memories.

Bellotti was the guy with the long throw , I think he replaced Charlie. A big mistake to let Charlie leave.4 -

Dunn used to throw more often than kick, because he threw it further and more accurately.
It was definitely Dunn, he replaced Charlie in 1971 from Villa and made over 100 appearances for us.
Bellotti only made 14 appearances before being quickly sold to Southend.

His playing days were well before my time but met him once at an EKA meeting and spoke to him most of the night. I had no idea who he was when I first spoke to him but he was the nicest bloke and proper gentleman and soon became my favourite guest I met at these events. He was just like us, a real man of the people who had time for everyone. Will always remember with fondness.

Absolute hero from that fine team. Great character and a pretty decent goalie too. Remember used to get taken down to a school somewhere in Greenwich one evening a week for coaching with him. Afraid my lack of heading ability drove him to a foul mouthed rant (which in those days involved no worse than the expletive "bloody"). Feels like a big chunk of childhood lost.0

Very sad but 86 is a good age. I remember everyone loved Charlie. He had such a rapport with the fans. A great goalkeeper as well. RIP big man!0
