  • Back to him buying Liverpool, he's said in the past that he's a Man Utd fan

Strange, he doesn't strike me as a sports fan.

For someone who likes to talk a lot about the importance of being "woke" and against racism and other right wing causes it really would be a good idea for you to familiarise yourself with one of the greatest threats to that view.

Ignorance may be bliss but he's more relevant to you (or your purported views) than nearly anyone else on here.
I am aware of the threat he carries politically, but if I had mentioned that the usual group of people would accuse me of hijacking this thread.
  • Can we retitle this thread "Lone Skum"?

If if you don’t use Pay Pal, have a Tesla motorcar, and have never been on Twitter, Musk is an irrelevance
    If only that were true.

This again? The myth that absolutely refuses to die.

He hasn't done anything in 'EV tech'. He bought Tesla from its founders, and used (and continues to use) government subsidies to run his business. The taxpayer of the US is funding Musk - Tesla LOSES money selling cars. This is how they make 'profit':

And the only reason he donates to charities is for tax purposes - the same reason most billionaires do. he doesn't even do what's 'required' of him there, either:

Fair challenges I don't read American news outlets.

Not sure what you read but I wouldn’t waste any tears. He bullied a child about the child’s father who had committed suicide and that child pushed him down a flight of stairs. Elon was not the innocent one there. His father, Errol, was a wealthy authoritarian South African bastard about town during Apartheid, who has set the record straight on much of Elon’s upbringing. His father has since married and had children with the step-daughter he raised from a young age with his second wife. So… there’s that.

His family didn’t move to America. He moved to Canada where his mum’s side of the family lived and then to America for schooling, where he overstayed his student visa to build startups with his brother. His banking app X was brought into to the early PayPal team to build a larger project for online payments. He was removed from PayPal CEO when the others realised he was a liability (they kicked him out when he was abroad on his honeymoon) but he made his first large fortune when the company was sold to E-Bay a little later. He then invested in Tesla and eventually wrestled control away from the founders and came to an agreement that included being able to name himself a founder.

Through all that, he’s shown himself to be a rich prick who’s become the richest prick simply because he’s ruthlessly driven. He’s now struggling to maintain his own origin myths.

This is a funny example of him trying to convince people he’s among the world’s best gamers (whilst clearly paying someone in Asia to do the work): https://youtu.be/6N-WW0UDrVQ?si=eU8htCoZxtkadriz

  • You could have a Musk, Gates and Bezos consortium buy us and we'd still f*** it up.
"Charlton Athletic are delighted to welcome Ben Garner back to the club for the start of the 2026/27 season.

Ben has a point to prove due to his time being cut short after steadily guiding the Addicks to mid table for the first half of the 22/23 season, and has wasted no time in making the changes, by bringing Mandela Egbo back to the club on a 3 year deal after he spent last season playing for Valletta FC in Malta.

Egbo is one of a number of players to join over the summer that fit the club's sustainable model of only signing players on free contracts, as the focus is on cutting costs and increasing revenue.  Jeff Bezos, majority shareholder said "Charlton is a great community club, and we will be looking to leverage that community history by striking up partnerships with local businesses and appealing to local people to get down to the valley and support their local team."

It's stated that Bezos, Musk and Gates are aiming for promotion to the Championship and hoping to break even, and absolutely none of their personal wealth will be ploughed into growing the club, simply covering the losses until which time the team achieves promotion to the Championship, with a rough timeline of 2030 being given as achievable.

The seasons starts this Saturday, and you've still got time to buy a season ticket ahead of the opener when we take on Shrewsbury at home"

  • Being run by Elon Musk would be like Thomas Sandgaard on ketamine. No thanks.

    PwR.

Tech wise he's a genius but probably thr biggest benefits recipient in the states , personality wise he seems like a coke head with all the money in the world and has been coming across more and more like a bellend as the weeks pass.

Not sure why he's suddenly obsessed with our country, but i wish he'd fk off
  • I quite enjoyed my School Meals. Especially when there were seconds and sometimes even thirds on the sponge pudding and custard.

Not sure how we reached school meals from a thread about Elon Musk but as that tangent has occured, can I just say I enjoyed Gypsy tart and Custard at School 😋

Since I was 15 I have on many occasions searched for a Gypsy tart but alas with no success; I took solace in having a spotty dick.

    Back to Elon Musk...
