The questions from the Zoom reps were far too long winded and gave us nothing of interest (banner news - jeez).
Why didn’t someone test out the microphone levels from Sparrows Lane? Someone should also have tested the zoom reps out and told them to turn off background noise etc.
No one questioned the answers. Nathan was asked are we looking at adding more pace to the squad like TC and Small. The answer was about how well TC and Small have played without actually answering the question.
The answer about the floodlights was basically that they were aware of it and it could be caused by a number of issues. That’s not an answer.
Such a wasted opportunity.
Also, is there a more unlikeable character than Rodwell? There’s something I really don’t like about him.
I really want to be more positive but I feel really let down by the questions that were presented to them.0 -
Hal1x said:Charlotte "can you let us know what turnstile is not working", well two things, surely they should already know, and if they really don't it would take one bloke with a season ticket card half an hour walking around the ground to find out.0

I'm not sure why everyone keeps asking them about buying The Valley, its not happening they have no interest in it, they will only want to buy it if we somehow fluke getting into the prem, even then I'm not even sure they would. Prob take their profits and run.4

Katrien was a visionary5 -
AFKABartram said:It’s becoming increasingly clear to me that our number one missive is to develop young players to then sell themI don’t really see the problem with this, they have already shown they aren’t going to accept the first offer for our young players and are doing better than previous regimes at getting them on contracts so that we get the maximum value for them
If we develop our own players or buy and develop players that become good enough to make a profit on, then that means we are developing and signing good players and will be doing well4 -
I think the intent of Heather's question was to gauge if the board are aware of the fans' views and issues. Unfortunately they were able sidestep it quite comfortably.3

Excellent.
So nice to hear what is going on and how it all works. Pleased we have owners that are prepared to rebuild everything that has been broken over the last 10 years and that there is a real professional approach to everything we do.
Not been a great season on the pitch but gates up. Things really are on the up.
Jones really getting to grips with recruitment and development. I feel more positive that we are actually going to get out of this crap league quite soon, and make a fist of staying up.7 -

I like how they kept using the fact we are in the middle of a transfer window as an excuse when it suited them (where Andy Scott is, why the SMT was fragmented on the day etc etc) but were completely evasive about us signing anyone - these things can't both be true at the same time can they????
Also why do we always end up with SMTs who want to do things completely different to what the whole rest of the football league is doing and is tried and true? Like we have to trust that they know something the whole rest of the league doesn't!? Oh the loan market doesn't work for the small clubs - well why do they ALL do it thennnnn??? Oh we have had more bad loans than good ones? Well that says more about your shitty fucking scouting network than it does about the loan market.
That whole thing was frustrating beyond belief and the sad thing is I knew that was what they were going to say going in and I still wasted my time watching it..

Defo the two best candidatesIf they are members then they can stand for election to the board, as you could, as anyone who is a member can whenever a board position becomes available. It's not what it's cracked up to be though - I was lead to believe it carried a £500k salary and a permanent seat in the Directors' box, rather than giving up time on a voluntary basis to do the best for our club, and being on the receiving end of abuse for doing so.21 -
Sorry, but a waste of time, people shouldn't even bother tuning in.
Ultimately the two most important things (promotion and ground ownership) are solved by money, and it appears we have owners that aren't willing to break the bank to get it done.
We won't improve our fan base, as there's too many London clubs better than us, we are currently the 3rd worst professional London football club out of 13 (I am not including the non league riff raff). Until that changes, we won't attract new fans (on a large scale) unless they are generational fans.
I'd actually be happy for them to say at this point "we don't have the money to bring you back to the Premier league, we are aiming to keep you afloat until we can make you a more ambitious project to purchase for someone else and make some potential profit on you". Deadly serious as well. I don't believe for a second these owners care further than viewing us as a 3-5 year flip project.
You cannot and I can't emphasise this enough, cannot sustain in this league for a club of our size in London. We are being swallowed every year by more ambitious clubs around us. Brentford as an example are a much bigger club than us now. Forget history, no one cares that we had a good few years in the prem. They dwarf us in following and riches now, that would have been inconceivable only over a decade or so ago. How bad can it get in another decade?
I think people genuinely underestimate how broken we are at times based on youtube chats etc.
All these questions about signs, turnstiles and food options do my nut in. I want to watch Charlton be a team that plays at the top level or at least the second level. Not mixing it up with bloody Shrewsbury, Northampton etc every year. (Sorry any Salops and Cobblers who may be floating about.)
It's imperative we get out of this league and become a good football side again, and it feels like cold water is being thrown on that to me. It's all about being 'sensible' and you just can't be in the modern game, you'll be left behind.50 -

If you are afraid to splash cash, loans are what can save you.
As for the concern about recalls if they do well, I don't understand the concern. If a player does well and is recalled, chances are they've made an impact/earned us points, and there should always be plans in place to replace said player with a like for like. These are proper basics in recruitment.

Thought Methven was what he always is at these things , very slick PR answers that don't really ever fully answer the question he's asked. Gavin Carter is fine , it's clearly not his natural thing.
Rodwell I just can't put my finger on why I just can't trust anything he says. Feels like someone that clearly thinks highly of themselves but isn't actually good at their job.2 -

I've said on the transfer rumours thread last week that we wont be signing anyone significant & hence why I dont really post on there. Waste of time.
As for loans......see my earlier comment.
I wonder how long it will take the yanks to realise they've been had & want to pull out. Another season maybe ?? Losing £10m a season (the figures said £9m but that was on the optimistic side) isnt sustainable for too much longer, esp when on the pitch we are being fed dross on a weekly basis.

Sadly the most important question wasn’t asked
What did you cook for dinner Golfie and was it nice?18 -

The starter was shit (0-1) but the main course (1-1) and the desert (2-1) were both delicious.
