Of course but Somerset batted 150 and weren’t even close to being bowled out. Wicket clearly favoured batting and Somerset just about misjudged it. If someone is scoring that high then there’s always a chance that a team can bat out a lot of overs

They are pot committed to doing so because of his central contract. Not picking him is, effectively, an admittance they got it wrong. The same as McCullum saying that Crawley will open in the Ashes come what may.

If McKinney gets picked, (and he should, a hugely exciting player) it will be interesting to see who drops out, Pope or Crawley. I think it will be Pope with McKinney slotting in at 3.

McKinney/Sibley is the vision. They're too chicken though and won't go back to the latter even though they obviously should. I guess Duckett has just about earnt a longer run
I'm incredibly biased but if he continues the form he's in , Tom Haines could be an outside shot for an opener slot. Not a Bazballer per se but his technique has always looked rock solid.
