We dug in against a very nasty side, andvtgat game was only going one way at the end. But we start again from scratch on Thursday. Hopefully with a different referee.
Wycombe are one of those big, tough, cynical, niggly, bullying teams. Putting in tackles on the edge of legality while dropping like Jordan’s knickers when an opponent gets within smelling distance, and inevitably fooling most of the shit refs in this division. Unlikeable pricks.
Thought we defended well & that kind of game shows you why having the second leg at home is definitely an advantage on paper. Aneke back into the squad as well after his ban adds a different dimension to scare Wycombe. Let’s hope we complete the job after 90 (or 120) minutes.
Good result. Thought Small looked a threat when he came on and got the ball, relentless chasing for Godden, Campbell struggled, but still a danger when he’s facing goal. Some long ball head tennis for most of the match, but we had a few opportunities to take a win. 0-0, a sold out Valley, confidence we had the upper hand towards the end of the game, and hopefully we can get the job done to move on to Wembley. Big effort lads! Come on!
Not too much to like about that match, but I did like that we stepped up a gear ten mins from the end, whilst they looked knackered. Bodes well for Thursday I think. If it's still even at full time, i reckon we'll have the ability to beat them in extra time. That said, I still think we can do it in the 90.
Wycombe should be starting the second leg with two suspended. Kone should have walked - he had three separate jumps at Ramsay, missed with the right boot, stamped on his heel with the left, missed again with the right - and Udoh led with the elbow so blatantly he wasn't even looking at the ball. The ref must be the only person not to have seen any of it.

Unlikeable pricks.
We needed a spark somewhere. TC needs to stop cutting back.
If there was VAR, you could argue they might have ended with 9 men.
Anyone knows the train timetable to Bradford 😄
But it wasn't. And in the context of a play off game a very good performance.
Wycombe very physical tonight. But proud of the team for the way they stood up to it. Huge credit to the defence tonight.
We finished much stronger. Small coming on made a big difference. Let's hope he can play 90 minutes on Thursday.
And the ref was bad. Very very bad.
