    Double post ..

  • If Phil Chapple tells Nathan there's a 21 year old from a Premier club who needs a half season loan or full season loan in the Championship with the provision that both sides can terminate early if need be and the Premier club will pay 75% of the wages then NJ would say yes IF that player was a midfielder combative player with a decent touch/pass  and great stamina then why wouldn't Jones say yes please Big man ?

He doesn't want too many loans but this is a step up and that may be the only way we can get a bit more class to go with the excellent application and team work of the players who clean sheeted cafc into the Championship.
As you say the loans from the PL to Championship sides are going to be of greater ability and I’m sure NJ and PC will recognise that and take advantage if they can.

We saw the downside of loans for Orient last season. Without Currie ,  Donley  Keeley and Kelman the O's would not have come close to the Play Offs.Having failed in that objective they now need to start again. In contrast  Campbell ( he did play well against Birmingham) Gilbert and McIntyre added depth none of them made the impact that the Orient loanees did.
I see it more as a positive rather than a downside especially for smaller clubs, for a club like Orient, a play-off final they never thought would happen, thanks to laregly in part loan signings, they simply could not get to that position without them or even attract permnant players of there calibre, I am sure there fans rather have that and it works than just mid table mediocrity without

In Keeley, Donley and Kelman they've got three key areas of the pitch they'll need to replace this coming summer, and will probably be the big reason why they may struggle to repeat their achievements from last season.

At least with us going up, we know that none of the starting eleven have to be replaced, simply because we dont / cant get individuals on loan again, like Bielik in 2019-20.

I like loans how Jones has utilised them this season, having to replace Gallagher / Rak-Sakyi etc. in recent years has almost been a bit of a minor issue for us.
But Orient is an example of how loans can benefit a club in the short term.

Despite having one of the lower budgets, reported as 16th, they finish 6th so punched well above their weight.

They were one game from promotion and got a day out at Wembley.

Yes, they now have to rebuild which is Jones' point.

He wants to build a long term project with players fully committed to his ideas who will stick around. I don't think Glibert, for example, wasn't committed and nor were players at the end of contracts (Watson, Small, Aneke) but for longer term planning your own players with longer contracts are "better".

Not necessarily better talents but a better fit for what Jones demands.

I still think we'll have a few loans, we just won't be over reliant on them.

    .
  • Decent and adaptable but unlikely to want to sit on bench. We desperately need a pacy LCB.

I wouldn’t worry.  If we didn’t have the cash to tempt Small to stay, we won’t be anywhere near him.

We certainly don't want to be (and i doubt we will), in a position where we've got 4 loan players in the first team. I know Jones isn't a fan of loans but if we can get 1-2 PL loans in of the quality of Gallagher and Rak-Sakyi, then i don't see the harm in that.

  • If we want a keeper, I hear Beadle’s about.
Not going back to Chef Wendy.
  • Thought Bradley was off to Birmingham

Vile post to speculate on what we can and can't pay! This is toxic.

We will pay what we want to pay! We don't know how much Championship teams pay. We aren't paying these players flippin peanuts.

Time to log off I think. Need the season to start.
    You are painfully unfunny
Well that's my weekend and potentially year ruined you don't find me funny ffs.

Sunderland and Burnley both had 4 players on loan last season.  I doubt they are upset about it.

    Because he joined Birmingham

Exactly that, we supposedly only have 4-5 players people mention maybe good enough to step up, bring in 3-4 class loans and buy 3-4 class players we will have a much better fighting chance.
