Morning all and to repeat Angie’s comment when I just messaged her. “Wow”
Angie is booking Wallys cremation and all that goes with it later today and originally she asked us to try and convince Wally that just a basic cremation was required, sadly we never got that opportunity.
To be honest he probably wouldn’t want a big fuss anyhow.
The difference your donations have made is it now gives Angie a choice, if she wants a small service she can have it, at this stage I’m not sure she knows.
What I do know is how keen she is to return Wally home to The Valley and laid to rest in the memorial garden, something I’ll contact the club about next week when staff return from holiday.
She’s asked if after the service we can all have a “drink and nibbles” somewhere, probably the biggest challenge we have got, with the club’s facilities certainly out of the range of the budget I’ll contact the Oak when we have a date in mind.
If I could ask anything more of this forum it’s, when we do have a date for the memorial service that as many of you as possible attend, Wally would have loved that.
It's a very sad day for this forum but again I cant help but think of mark of a man that few have met in person but all seem to hold in such high esteem and that hopefully will allow Malc's family/loved ones a singular pride at such a difficult time.

It's my loss to have never known him in real life.
Wishing his family and close friends every possible consolation at this terrible time.
Never met Malcolm personally but he was a legend back in the day with the match threads.
RIP, Addick.
Thank you so much for all those match threads.
And condolences to his family and friends on his passing.

A legend of this forum, the match threads won't be the same without him, may he rest easy.
My deepest condolences to his friends and family at this difficult time.
