  • Our bundle of fun and love will fetch her toys but will not give them back :disappointed:
    She's getting better, slowly.
Don’t throw the toy, play tug with the puppy. (Commonly know as ragging)
Then toss it a few inches away the pup should retrieve the toy and want you to play again, if it doesn’t play a little more aggressively shaking the  toy as puppy holds on ask them to release then toss it a short distance slowly increasing the distance you throw. If puppy runs off it’s because it’s having more fun on it’s on than with you. 👍 I hope this helps.

    Like so

  • Dogs are quite simply the best - no side to a dog - total love - no matter what has happened in your life, your dog(s) are there and love you no matter what
You haven’t seen the looks I get from our dogs when I have to shower them.

    Thanks, I'll try that.

  • Just a reminder that dogs ain’t just for Christmas, they need walking on St Stephen’s / Boxing Day also.

  • Colossal Biosciences brought about the dire wolves Romulus and Remus through a process of "de-extinction" by genetically engineering grey wolf DNA to include key traits of the extinct dire wolf, a species that vanished over 10,000 years ago. Scientists sequenced ancient dire wolf DNA from fossils, identified 20 genetic differences compared to grey wolves, and edited the grey wolf genome to incorporate these traits before implanting the resulting embryos into surrogate domestic dog mothers, leading to the birth of the genetically engineered pups.
    The Process of De-Extinction
    1. 1. Ancient DNA Collection:
Researchers obtained ancient DNA from fossils of a 13,000-year-old tooth and a 72,000-year-old ear bone of a dire wolf.
    2. Genome Reconstruction and Comparison:
The DNA was sequenced to reconstruct the dire wolf genome and compare it to the grey wolf genome.
    3. Genetic Engineering:
Scientists identified 20 genetic differences in 14 genes that distinguished dire wolves from grey wolves. They then used gene-editing tools to incorporate these specific traits into the genome of an existing grey wolf.
    4. Embryo Creation:
The edited grey wolf cells, now carrying dire wolf genetic traits, were used to create embryos.
    5. Surrogacy:
These engineered embryos were then implanted into the wombs of surrogate domestic dog mothers.
    6. Birth:
After gestation, the surrogate mothers gave birth to the genetically engineered pups, Romulus and Remus.
    Key Details
De-extinction: The process of bringing a species back from extinction using genetic engineering. Surrogate Mothers: Domestic dogs were used to carry the engineered embryos to term. Purpose: Colossal aims to prove that de-extinction is a possible reality, moving it from theory to practice.
It is important to note that while the resulting pups are genetically engineered to look and behave like dire wolves, the process involved modifying grey wolf DNA rather than recreating the dire wolf genome from scratch, leading some scientists to debate whether it constitutes a true revival of the species.

  • Not sure I should let the wife take him shopping again...
  • A very enjoyable day meeting with a new SEN group to our area, children with different needs on the spectrum that are home educated for varying reasons. Choice, no facilities for that particular child’s requirements or no availability amongst many I heard today.
Wowed by Bow’s physical size the children they had a great time showing him their Lego achievements, staff and parents made us feel very welcome and already have asked to visit again.
