A few misplaced passes and lapses of concentration still. A more composed opponent would have capitalised. Sheffield were poor, but we limited their attacks and worked hard in defence. Clean sheets at this level are not gifted.
Proper away performance, but we have to be more clinical in front of goal. Leaburn had a positive impact but should have scored. Docherty's header should have been on target as well. Danny Hylton has to work hard with the attacking players so we take these chances.
I don't mind late winners away from home, I think the first half of the season will be like this as they adjust to the level.
Can't fault the work rate and honesty of all the players, worked their arses off in tricky wet conditions. By the end of the game the side of the pitch by the dugouts was getting heavy with water.
Walking back up the hill to the car with all the Sheffield fans was interesting, all very subdued they didn't seem angry just resigned to the result the same feeling I got in the stadium from them all. Wilder has a bit of a job on his hands.

Tanto spoke about it in his interview, 'the game changers to come on after 60 minutes'. I can just imagine players demanding to know why they're not starting, only to be told, 'Because you're the game changer'! What kudos that title holds ... especially when you go out and actually do it!
At the match got soaked but who cares. Worried like most about the wilder factor but we played a good game in seeing this out.
Still not creating enough chances and feel Campbell needs a rest Better timing of the subs this week and thought leaburn and tanto gave them something else to think about.

There's no outstanding side in the division this year, it's totally wide open and a lot of teams will fancy their chances of getting top 6. If Bristol City win today they will be second and unbeaten, and we looked pretty comfortable when we went there.

Just running at teams with TC feeding off scraps must be soul destroying for the lad. In six league games his average playing time is only an hour!
I really hope that Charlie gets some support perhaps from Knibbs if Carey gets pulled otherwise I'm dumbstruck as to why Nathan ever bought him.
Perhaps Kelman wasn't especially bought for right now - more for a future time, as tactics and style evolves?
No way would our most expensive signing of the summer be someone not expected to make an impact more or less straight away. We don't have the money to spend £3m on long term punts.
£3m for a striker in this league is peanuts. If you want an average striker who makes an impact straight away you’re looking at £7m plus. Not only can we not afford that, those kind of players won’t come here and risk it on a newly promoted side.
I'm surprised at some of our ratings this week. I thought we were generally quite poor, but better than them.
Mate, we won and everyone is happy and numerous people gave Kelman 7/10. If Sheff U had got the late winner then those 7s would have been 3s and 4s even though he wasn’t on the pitch for half hour!

Nathan Jones sets the team up to win 1-0 - it happened a fair amount last year not least in the play off semi and the final So long as he sticks to his system we aren’t going to suddenly start scoring loads of goals whether we are playing Kelman or Harry Kane up front.

You both have it right, this start is not too dissimilar to last season and it took time and a lot of belief from players and ourselves to buy into it. I think Kelman is a direct replacement for Godden and the transfer needed to happen because of Goddens operation, not saying he won't be back though, he will. Oloafe is a fully fit replacement for Chuks and we have, hopefully, a fully fit Miles Leaburn. We have also improved the squad by adding a right wing back with a right foot in Bree and competition across the back three in Burke and Bell. I thought at the start of the season, that we would surprise a few people in this division and I haven't seen anything to change that opinion, QPR, which was our worst performance, are, maybe proving, that they were and are better than we gave them credit for. Bold statement and open to challenge, I think this squad is good enough to get into the top six.
Our start to this season looked challenging, 3 London teams (one we always lose against), 2 teams that finished in the top 6 last season and one relegated Premier League team. To be sitting midtable and to be moaning about lost points, this start has been very good especially as I think we will become more clinical.
I hope those critics of Docherty, who said he wouldn't be good enough for the Championship, are enjoying their humble pie.
I'm having that humble pie for breakfast,lunch and dinner today. I will freely admit to being one of his detractors at times this season and honestly thought he was the weak link but today at that game he was immense never stopped running and close with bell for me for man of the match, I'm happy he is proving me and others wrong Atm that's football for ya I still wish we had another option on the bench say or starting that brings a little more quality from that area but if it's working it's working and I'm not the manager.I'd also like to add about some of the comments before the match of people saying we are gonna get stuffed or being soo negative before we had even kicked a ball that's laughable tbh and there's some humble pie there aswell,the away support was amazing we believed, the team believed and Nathan did and that's what u need against any team your playing.

I think this is bang on. Hopefully it will be enough to see us safe but the problem arises when we go behind and when we do we’ll struggle because we’re just not set up to chase the game. Yes we can change the personnel to give us a bit more going forward but we’ll then lose that solid looking foundation, as we found out at QPR who with respect are not one of the better teams in our division.

agreed with poster who said tantos finish was poor, when he struck it I was already for a split second getting ready to erupt in a different way with yet more frustration as it looked like it was gonna bounce back off the keeper, should’ve been putting that well into the corner / top corner miles from the keeper but don’t give a shit, well in mate and I like Tanto and would like to see a bit more of him
TC frustrated the hell out of me, he is so effective in driving us up the pitch and wins free kicks etc and so important in many ways but Jesus his end product, so frustrating his shooting, crossing and passing, and he’s so slow to make a pass or cross - doesn’t seem like the right partner for Kelman who wants an early ball. Wouldn’t mind seeing Apter there with Bree who seems very good in the RWB role
we should have scored sooner, continuing worry is the lack of quality in final third, fluctuating between thinking that is gonna have us scrapping for our lives Vs we’re just a whisker/ bit of finessing away from being a play off contender

3 points away from a game I did not expect anything from. A brilliant performance from everyone on the pitch to a man. NJ is a manager that when he has buy in he gets a team playing greater than the sum of its parts. For me this season is all about surviving and building but it honestly wouldn’t surprise me that much if we achieved a lot more than that this season
