At HT I didn't think we were playing that well, and thought Wednesday posed an attacking threat to our slightly shaky defence, so not a massive surprise they scored in the second half.

Unfair to blame the introduction of Tanto and Miles for that, as Wednesday had a lot of the ball before the changes.  I worry about the minutes Coventry and Doc are playing,  while Burke and Bree faded before they were taken off. Carey was excellent,  but in that attacking presser role, he seems to fade after an hour too.

Jones was a rock as always,  I doubt there's a better CB in the air in the division.

I'm not one to moan about refs, but that incident at the end was ludicrous. The most obvious red card ever, yet without the assistant he wouldn't have given it.

Great result terrible performance, how bad are the refs, it’s beyond a joke. How the hell he didn’t see the assault I will never know, good job the assistant had half a brain.

Was concerned we wouldn't get full returns today. Very pleased we did. All points matter but definitely need to take those from teams below. Will always be looking down until the point we hopefully don't need to.
I look at the teams above us and think what might have been but for a wonder save in Bristol, another keeper on good form v Leicester and the curse of scumwall. Only Nob End had us over deservedly. When I think of our overall performance so far I'm really proud of the team.

We're back at the Valley, and a ghostly shape can be seen flying through the South East of London

Wait its just Ethan Horveth, but wait... there is the sound of one gun... TWO guns

Do you know why... Because Sheffield Wednesday (and Tanto Olaofe it seems)... YOU'VE... BEEN SUNK!!

We won. That's it. I thought even first half we were poor. Lack of energy throughout the team. Carey the pick of the bunch, Kelman worked hard and just needs that one goal to get him going. TC not at the races. Too many times he seems to be flat footed and not on his toes anticipating things. Tanto brought energy and he's physical so I'd like him and Kelman to start Tuesday. Thought Coventry looked knackered, Doc too. Burke is thoroughly unimpressive, all over the shop defensively. Thought Bree was poor too. Not seen their goal again but thought Kaminski should have done better.

Saying all that, we won and that's what matters. And I know we stand 8th or something but we do need to get better offensively. It says something that I'm thinking that when at the start of the season most would have taken coming 19th. I think we can be so much better so hence the criticism. Next two games are tough, we need to regroup and go again.

I was uncomfortable all week about this game - we never seem to do well when we are clear favourites so to come out of it with the win was all I cared about. Weds will no doubt go down but they will take points off some teams along the way and it is vital we are not one of them with how tight this league is.

Wednesday will go down comfortably this season and we really should have gone on and wrapped things up after the late second goal.
Unless our performances pick up I still think we'll end up bottom six.
That said, it is all about results and we must all be pleased how the first ten games have gone.

Yeah, we made an absolute pig's ear of that. Might need to rethink our substitutions cos until then we were in no bother for the 3rd game running
It seems we just make them at 60 mins regardless of how the game is going. Kelman was just starting to get in behind regularly I thought, and then he got pulled. I know it's a Sat-Tues-Sat week but that change nearly fucked us
I didn't see that in Kelman. He looked tired by that point,  and lacking in confidence.  There were a few moments when he seemed a yard behind where he should have been.

Thought in the first half we looked utterly fantastic and dominant, to go in 2-0 is absolutely the right result at half time. The usual 60 minute subs changed the game and taking TC off gave us a weakness they exposed.. it wasn’t the finest game by any means but a win’s a win and I’ll take that!

The ref though, utter shocking. How he went to blow for a clear foul on Knibbs just outside the box then suddenly changed his mind is one thing, but the keeper taking Tanto out and the ref choosing to play on while the pair are tangled in a heap was just some off the worst officiating I’ve ever seen in my life. He clearly didn’t want to give it, or send the keeper off, yet it was the most obvious red card you’ll ever see! Awful officials.

People honestly need to not look to hard into the performance today. I honestly think after the potential news coming out of Sheffield this week, this was the worse time to play them. A win, no matter which way it came, was more important than anything else today.

That now means Tuesday night is a free hit whereas it certainly wouldn’t have been if we drew or lost today! 3 points - onto the next!

Agreed. Need to keep him on for longer. Once he nicks a goal he'll be fine but to get a goal he needs to be on for longer.

Up to 9th - suspect Jones is in “hold” mode until Godden-again is fit to return and turn on the goal scoring taps…

Was in control ,but yet again like derby and preston away poor second half . And please stop with the kelman tc love affair it clearly dosent work 10 games 0 goals between them
Quite the opposite. When they are on the pitch we look good because of their constant pressing. When they come off we are forced on to the defensive. Huge problem for NJ to fix.

Spot on, I felt Kelman looked great today and TC pulled their players all over the place, we were worse when they came off

I think Leaburn just can't really do it, tbh. He's lost his energy. I don't think he should be getting the minutes he is at the moment

As much as we could all moan about our forwards I do agree with Blackpool72 that Kelman and Tanto needs a tryout and perhaps leave Kelman on for maybe bit longer than 61 minutes every flipping week.

Thing is today was a definite potential banana skin and it certainly wasn't pretty but 3 points is vital especially when we have two tough away games next.

Good win! Carey the standout for me. Great set up by TC

thought kelman had some good link play, however, we put a few worldy crosses in the box and he was nowhere to be seen. Really just needs that goal! We still hope

tanto great when he came on.

    bell a rock.

Could just see banan getting a late equaliser! Glad he didnt

As others have said that was a potential banana skin. In the last 5/6 years we’ve lost those games more often than not. Good teams win games when not playing well and that’s what happened today

Agree, maybe leave Kelman on when subbing TC for TO, leave Leaburn on the bench
