Yeah Cawley revealed the Anderson interest.ForeverAddickted said:
Wasn't it Cawley though who revealled that? - I mean its not difficult to get Anderson / Docherty mixed up, they're practically twinsfenaddick said:

I'm saying Cawley's source(s). They hear Wycombe are taking a midfielder on loan, look at our squad and assume it's Anderson and tell Cawley Anderson is coming in when it was actually DocForeverAddickted said:

I’d say without a decent defensive unit, we need him more than before.

Doc is not Championship quality, like Gillesphey and Berry, he should have been moved on and replaced in the summer. They were the two that came to mind when Curbs said NJ should not be too loyal.
That said, he seems a very decent individual (just like other two), and I would have thought, a difficult one to fall out with. So if that is true (which given the posters who have mentioned it, I have no doubt it is), then that is a worry.
Alongside TC's clear pissed off body language in the first half yesterday, are some cracks beginning to show.3 -
My body language would be pissed off if I had to play out of position and next to Gillesphey too to be fair to himAthletico Charlton said:Doc is not Championship quality, like Gillesphey and Berry, he should have been moved on and replaced in the summer. Docherty - like all players - has got a lot better since he's been out the team. He's not perfect, but he's a more complete player than Anderson and our best runs of form came with him in the team next to Coventry. I am not his biggest fan and he's too slow on the ball for this level, but he would improve this team at the moment.8

He's got to be a better bet than Anderson, isn't he ?7

He is like prime Pirlo compared to AndersonLincsaddick said:He's got to be a better bet than Anderson, isn't he ?2 -
On a positive note about Doc, his reaction to the crossbar challenge yesterday is brilliant

@21cws odd reason for an LOL to suggest we need Docherty back in the team on Saturday, care to explain?1

You lost mate? This is the Greg docherty threadWeegie Addick said:Said in the second half we were not only missing Doc’s leadership but also his guile at spotting a pass that no-one else does.1 -
I’d get Doc back in against Millwall.6

I don't think doc is good enough for the champ so by all means offload in the summer if we stay up but mad to let him go at this stage6

Exactly, unless you’re going to sign better, which is a heck of a push in January.jams said:I don't think doc is good enough for the champ so by all means offload in the summer if we stay up but mad to let him go at this stage5 -
You can see names? Does nothing if I long click on it. Though I imagine he/she doesn't rate Docherty.MartinCAFC said:@21cws odd reason for an LOL to suggest we need Docherty back in the team on Saturday, care to explain?0 -
And his reaction to the guy who won the crossbar challenge was great too, seemed really pleased for him.Rossman92 said:
When isn’t he smiling? Genuinely seems like one of the most likable people at the clubFerryman said:
Doc was smiling in the dugout tonight when the camera panned.EastTerrace said:Not what we need at the moment, Jones falling out with his the club captain.5 -
I’ve said it before, he’s not great but I feel we play better as a team when Docherty is in the side and that’s what is most important.elbiglad said:Docherty - like all players - has got a lot better since he's been out the team. Curbs should know tbf - eg IlicAthletico Charlton said:Doc is not Championship quality, like Gillesphey and Berry, he should have been moved on and replaced in the summer. They were the two that came to mind when Curbs said NJ should not be too loyal.

NJ's voice on the pitch, looked more suited to Championship than League 1 during the early part of the season, strikes me as a Jason Pearce type character, not the best available in terms of ability but someone you'd want around the squad regardless. And agreed, seems like a thoroughly decent bloke.11

Not sure what you've seen, but I've never seen Doc's guile at spotting a pass.Weegie Addick said:Said in the second half we were not only missing Doc’s leadership but also his guile at spotting a pass that no-one else does.
He's another short passer, generally sideways.4 -
He's more progressive in the pass than Coventry and Anderson have been in the last couple of home games, but that's not saying much0
-
I suspect Docherty will soon be off to Scotland.0

The kind of guy you'd want in your team in a relegation dogfight.Rock Spectacle said:NJ's voice on the pitch, looked more suited to Championship than League 1 during the early part of the season, strikes me as a Jason Pearce type character, not the best available in terms of ability but someone you'd want around the squad regardless. A good squad man for a promotion chasing side.
The one player who's game seemed better suited to the championship than league one during the first 15 games.

This. We aren't exactly stacked with options in the 6 and 8 role. He isn't good enough long term but in our set up his positional discipline is often useful in tough away games or against the top teams. We aren't gonna be able to get a top class CM in the January window. Look to upgrade in the summer.jams said:I don't think doc is good enough for the champ so by all means offload in the summer if we stay up but mad to let him go at this stage

Mad to ship out one of the leaders in a squad that is mainly devoid of leadership. I don’t think he’s amazing, but we’d be better off as a team with him in the starting XI at the moment.8
-
Should start instead of Coventry today and with JRC8
-
Sheffield Weds Inglesson is available and can play 10, 8, 6 and also cover RB and LB. A possible replacement for the Doc with invaluable versatility. Pompey are after him and have had a bid rejected. I wonder if we are interested. A very Curbs like signing imo.3

Sit tight Greg and don't let Jones push you out.
He'll be gone before you.7
