Would have at least shown some fight in there.0

Wasn't on the bench either was he? Very strange0
-
Would have at least made an effort and tried.2

Seems his leadership is required back on the pitch.5

No time for fall outs. I deal with that shit with my kids at home.
Dont expect to see it with fully grown adults.Everyone needs to grow the fuck up.4 -
Everyone, or Jones? Unless Doc has refused to play (doubtful) then it's the manager that's frozen him (and Apter it would seem) out.DamoNorthStand said:No time for fall outs. I deal with that shit with my kids at home.

If I was running the club, I’d get them both in a room, lock the doors, and say nobody is going home until we get to the bottom of this shit.
Honestly we have enough of a challenge without shit like this to deal with2 -
If Doc has been frozen out, I'd wonder why he travelled with the Matchday squad today.Talal said:

I heard that Karoy was off to Wycombe, Jones then falls out with Doc, and so he’s now off to Wycombe, only for Knibbs to get injured, and so now Jones is waiting to see if we can get someone else in first.Karoy needs a loan - stick with plan A!2
-
I think what’s important to balance out - is nobody is claiming he is suddenly a world beater.
But just look at Coventry and Doc together earlier in the season. And then ask if there is any argument whatsoever to suggest Anderson should be there instead.
He isn’t a world beater but he sure as hell should have been on the pitch today11 -

Absolutely agree , I'd get Karoy out on loan , Doc back around the squad rotation and sign a new quality starter.Themightyath2 said:I heard that Karoy was off to Wycombe, Jones then falls out with Doc, and so he’s now off to Wycombe, only for Knibbs to get injured, and so now Jones is waiting to see if we can get someone else in first.Karoy needs a loan - stick with plan A!1 -

He would show some fight but we still need better, personally need to ship Karoy Doc out and use the funds to get in another midfieldwr0
-
Agreed but given the choice you surely would have wanted Doc out there today.Crispywood said:He would show some fight but we still need better, personally need to ship Karoy Doc out and use the funds to get in another midfieldwrCan’t under estimate the impact of a passion merchant in a game like this0 -
Absolutely I would have bur let’s not pretend the result is any different with Doc in the team. If Lloyd Jones or Coventry is missing you can tell the difference in performance but Doc arguably isn’t even in our best midfield 3 over Coventry JRC and CareyAberystwythAddick said:

You don’t need Coady to run around much when Docherty has the legs for both of them.6
-
And you don’t need Doc to play forward passes when Coady can do it. Potentially a great pairing for a lower end Championship sideCallumcafc said:You don’t need Coady to run around much when Docherty has the legs for both of them.6 -
So do we think Doc and NJ have kissed and made up?5

His return made a huge difference today. It only went wrong Doc got too ambitious with his forward passes.
His positioning and football intelligence shows exactly what Karoy is missing.12 -

Wha he lacks in technical ability he more than makes up for in his positioning and football nouse as you say.superclive98 said:His return made a huge difference today. It only went wrong Doc got too ambitious with his forward passes.

It’s weird whoever we have used in the 8 whether that’s Karoy Docherty JRC they look average at best come out the team then get given another chance and they look world class for a few games before dropping off again1

He has obvious limitations but all I know is we generally seem to look a better team when he plays. He’ll always frustrate fans as his limitations mostly relate to his ability on the ball, but he understands his role and spots danger early and plugs so many gaps when we don’t have the ball. Some of the goals we’ve conceded recently would have been less likely to happen had he been on the pitch, in my opinion, and it still baffles me that he didn’t start at the Den as I’d have thought that kind of battle was made for his endeavour, experience, and leadership. That’s water under the bridge now, though. He is very similar to a Keith Jones or Radostan Kishishev, albeit they were drawing fans ire for their attacking limitations in better teams than this one. However, sometimes you just need a player like that who somehow seems to glue everything else together by protecting and covering defensive teammates and giving more talented players a platform to on which to play. It doesn’t necessarily make sense but sometimes it is those players that are the multiplier in the equation that makes a team greater than the sum of its parts.
If we can survive this season and strengthen in the summer to be a more comfortably established Championship side then he will probably be one of the most likely players to be moved on, as the level we are currently at is probably his peak, but, with the passage of time, I think his contribution to getting us and keeping us here will be looked upon more favourably by a lot of fans.7 -
Makes it even more baffling that he's been travelling with the squads so clearly not injured, completely dropped from even the bench for a few games, loads of talk about him being off etc. and suddenly he's starting again like nothing happened1
-
Bizarre he started today after being not even on the bench last week. Something must have happened, pleased he's back0
-
He actually had impressive stats for once, most tackles in the game, won most of his ground and aerial duels too1

In a team with two genuinely attacking wing backs, on their correct side, you can get away with water carriers in midfield, as the creativity comes from elsewhere.
And Doc did the water carrying very well today, and was generally very good defensively.
Confusing why he's vanished for a few games, then reappeared today.4 -
Perhaps not fully fit, or dealing with some distracting personal issues that the club did not want to publicise, or being given a kick up the arse by NJ (as happened last season too). There could be a number of reasons. I think we’re a bit too quick as a fan base to assume that these issues are always catastrophic and cannot be come back from. The reality is that the equivalent of these kinds of things go on in most work places but they don’t always end in someone leaving a company or never being able to reconcile things with their boss.killerandflash said:In a team with two genuinely attacking wing backs, on their correct side, you can get away with water carriers in midfield, as the creativity comes from elsewhere.

He was very good at breaking up play today but I can see why he gets dropped because with time on the ball he gives it away cheap so many times.Having said that I can’t see karoy is anywhere near the player he is5

His passing is so erratic! A highlight reel could make him look like a cultured, two-footed player the way he sometimes pulls off soft, cushioned passes that come from his left foot.Never expected him to execute that ball to Bree at Derby, as well as the pass to Miles and Coady yesterday!0
