Frustrating. The first time in ages when we've created lots of chances, and fluffed them, as our problem has been creating chances, rather than finishing them. It feels like Wrexham are a bit of a bogey side for us, as they only beat us at the racecourse due to the ludicrous handball.

We should have lost on Tuesday and won today. On Tuesday we created one chance and scored it, today Clarke and TC missed sitters, while Berry mucked up another great situation.

A slightly odd team selection, Burke limping off and Berry being subbed off at HT says it all. I was impressed with Carey in the second half, he seemed to be everywhere. Jones is a colossus, while Sichenje continues to show promise.

I am so proud of this club and the effort today, keep it up and we will have no problem for the rest of the season...
How Wrexham are where they are is beyond me, very lucky and a park the bus and hit on the break kinda side, really can't see their luck holding for the rest of the season, and will be expecting them again at The Valley next season, by the way Collins was immense today and probably run Jones close for the MOTM...
Looking forward to Brum next Saturday...COYR
Had a shit day at the office. Like us most weeks.

    Still managed the win though.
Something we are incapable of, even on one of our few good office days

Just got in, PWR. Can’t be too disappointed with that, thought we played really well but lacked a bit up front. All the other results went our way which helped
  • Will somebody stick it in the blooming net,  should have been a comfortable home win.

    PWR

Excellent performance against the 12 men of Wrexham and we were unlucky to come away from that with nothing.

Berry is the one player that was below par in my opinion. Everyone else was excellent.

  • Was there today. Deserved at least a point if not three. Even my four year old thought the referee was terrible and was giving him a lot of abuse!

Its also not a very strong league compared to previous years. You don't have to be that great to get near the playoffs, just need to be somewhat consistent or go on a decent run.
  • I never to see Luke Berry start game for us again. Too slow in all aspects of the game. No idea what Jones was thinking on that selection

Which lucky for us (atm), also means you have to be really poor to be relegated.

Although still a long way to go.

  • NJ does harp on about how athletic this league is. Well here's a good example, remember JRC's goal against Coventry to earn us a point. Where would Berry have been in that position. Would/Could he have run 60 yards to be the only support act

Thought Dobbo had packed on quite a bit of mass. No idea if it’s helped him or not but he’s quite a big bigger than he was even last year.

Are we ever going to get a proper keeper?
Well, I like Okonkwo. But people who watch a lot more of other games than I do, say he's let in some howlers. But at 24 he is young for a keeper. And speaking of young keepers, a lot of people on here didn't rate Nick Pope.
Yeah he looked good to me. Never gonna happen though so pointless even going there. The Nick Pope thing has been done to death on here. Anyone who watched him enough knows exactly what happened.

Berry was very good and showed his class but he HAS to score

The best we've played for ages. Kept the ball on the deck for the most part and really should have scored from at least Berry and Clarke's excellent openings. Clarke really does make some good runs but his finishing is sorely lacking.

Surprised not many mentions of the officials, who I thought were terrible, from the linesmen flagging phantom offsides, to the ref ignoring their time wasting and missing the foul on TC in the passage of play leading to their goal, to the 4th official somehow thinking there was only 4 minutes of injury time.

Mannion had a good game and seemed to be a reassuring presence for the defence. Sichenje and Jones were both excellent, let's hope both Sichenje and Bell's injuries aren't enough to put them on the sidelines.

Dykes has been excellent for us but thought he was largely ineffective today, until the end of game pile-on, at least. Leaburn put himself about well but  showed a lack of composure with what was a tricky opportunity. I thought it was one of TC's best games of the season overall, especially in the first half. Thought Carey's late slot was a nailed on goal but their keeper made a great save.

Overall, a draw would have been a fair result. Thank god the results around mean we still have a nice cushion from the relegation zone.
You fail to mention Campbell sitter he missed from 3 yards

A Wrexham v Millwall playoff final would be fucking horrific
    A Tsunami might improve things

  • Wrexham will be buzzing with that. Very frustrating to not have taken our chances, particularly first half but can’t fault the effort and endeavour. We’re a cobbled together championship side that will have succeeded if we stay up.

Love Collins Sichenje too. Loves to take a risk on the ball and in the tackle but has a lot of potential. Excited to see him grow.
Collins needs to learn quickly at this level you cannot be rash. He got away with not getting a yellow at Southampton, which changes the way he can play and he was at fault for the goal today. Came from him jumping in needlessly and their player is off down the wing. But this is the bonus of bringing him in early, he is will learn every game

Thought Mannion was ok today, couldn't do anything about the goal, just came through a jungle of legs, was a very fortunate goal for them...

Can't believe we didn't win that let alone losing it. Oh well, only team to gain on us today was Oxford and even they did it at the expense of West Brom. Next game

    Sky highlights are up: Link

Berry & Clarke's misses are so bad.
I can see why Berry would want to take a touch & open up the goal.....its just his touch is too heavy & it runs away from him. Just enough for the defender to get in a tackle.

And for Clarke's chance we only need to be reminded of the words of Brian Clough......

"to miss from there you need bloody shooting"

Even after his ‘mistake’ we had enough to deal with what followed but didn’t. Two players on top of Rathbone and one, Berry, just dangled a leg at it.

Blaming Collins is definitely a bit of a stretch, no way should he have been able to get shot off from there.

Looking at the players marks thread makes you wonder whether people actually watched the game or are just disappointed that we didn't win.

For me, Burke before Collins was even more dumbfounding. How did those 2 changes work out, Nathan? Both off before the second half
Wrexham are a big and physical side, so starting Burke made sense over Collins who is still very new to this league. Berry played well but only came off due to an injury.

  • I stopped reading after the 2nd page ☹️....-'Apparently we played well today and got fuck all and by all accounts we were turgid on tuesday night and walked away with point.

Im hoping(as a fan for over 40 years) we keep playing turgid football to get another few points.
    Football fans hey???
