We don’t need a complete change in style but would be nice to not essentially be the 2nd lowest scorers in the division, whilst being 23rd for XG, 21st for SOT,

Like to see him leave in the Summer. I really don’t think he can make us much better. Plus the fact I have bought a S/T for next season and I don’t think I can take another season of anti football.
I agree . He’s done a great job getting us where we are but the football is appalling and will turn a lot of people off . There must be more progressive managers around?  . We are on a journey as he likes to say but perhaps this is where he gets off the bus ?
More progressive football without the squad to do it will put us straight back in league 1. Pompey played some of the best football I’ve seen in league 1 when they got promoted, but when they got to the championship they had to abandon it to stay up. If we got rid of Jones and brought in a manager to play nice football we’ll get relegated next season. If we’d done it this season we would have been nailed on 23rd.

To play that football you need a very good budget, so that you have better footballers than the other teams, that’s not us!

The teams that over-achieve in the championship play direct football. Look at the teams over-achieving at the top end of the table this season, Millwall, Hull, Derby and Wrexham - all of them are 16th or below for possession. This is what we are aiming to become
I don’t disagree with most of that . I just hate watching a team that can’t pass the ball to each other on the floor .
Do people really think that Jones plan is to keep being a team that doesn’t create any chances? Of course it isn’t. And he absolutely deserves the chance to carry on from the base he’s built and make us a better team

And to those doubting he can do it,, including with us last season. Didn’t hear any complaints about our style of play from January to May last season? From a solid base we became a team that scored goals and won games
You are joking right ? I heard nothing but complaining about the matches . Clean sheets got us promoted not attacking football and as for doing it multiple times . Where ? He certainly didn’t play attractive football at Luton ( yes it was effective) I know many fans who support them as they are my local team and they hated his brand of football and just ask Stoke and Southampton fans what they think of his style . It wasn’t until Rob Edwards took over at Luton did they look a good footballing side .

My brother in law ( lifelong Luton season ticket holder) mentioned the first season he played more appealing football. It was when they were promoted through the league the tactics changed. He believes because the talent could not play the same passing style higher up the league. Mainly because playing above their 'natural' level. Sees the way we play as very similar.
Most players we have are playing higher than they ever have, and do not have the consistent level of skill and technique to play around teams with better players.
If we stay up, I hope we go in for upgrades to players, and if we do it will be interesting to see if Jones changes our style.
Exactly this. He plays the style of football that gets the best out of the resources he has. When Luton were in league 2, they had a very good squad for the level so he set them up to play attractive football and they  won the league. If you don’t have one of the best squads in the league, it is very difficult to do well trying to play this way, because you usually have worse footballers than the opposition do

It would. And I am sure Jones also thinks so. He's not playing sufferball tactics because he gets some sadistic enjoyment out of it, he does it because it works and trying to play expansive football with this squad does not work and never would.
If this time next season we're still playing the same drab football with the same limited players then I'll be as annoyed as anyone but I'm optimistic that won't be the case.

Deserves all the plaudits if he keeps us up but I don't think he has what it takes to improve a team in this league.
He’s literally done it before? So how have you come to the conclusion that he doesn’t have what it takes?
I personally think the game (and this league) has moved on since then.
The game has moved on so much but not exactly for the better. The number of managers to manage in the championship this season is just shy of 40. That’s 40! This proves that the stock of manager out there is not great at all! It’s not always pleasing to watch but we need to give him time! He has so much credit in the bank as much as his tactics and style do drive a lot of us crazy!

The vast majority know this, understand that's how it has to be for now and accept it.
A minority know this but don't appreciate that we'll likely be worse off without Jones.
A very small minority just don't understand.
